Title Song of the Moon Spoiler
He seriously thinks that for the sake of his clan, he can do anything: kills innocent, creates chaos in 3 realms,…
Yeah, I hate war. But sometimes that's what happens in real life too. Sometimes wars do take place when negotiations fail to ensure peace. It's contradictory, but it does happen. He Na, right from the beginning has been following rules, trying to be diplomatic & finding solutions to satisfy everyone, especially the condescending immortal realm. And the immortal realm people, including Luo ge never relents to He Na's requests easily. Liu Shao is the only exception so far. And perhaps Luo Ge, after his second trial did soften a bit towards He Na --- became more flexible towards He Na & the aquatic realm & other demons under Liu Shao's influence. A Fu sees his brother always been servile & his clan & his brother always being humiliated & at the mercy if others. Without A Fu's decisive choices, there'd be no reordering of structures & statuses. Everything & everyone will remain as they were with no room for fresh changes or development.
I don't know whether demon king is a status that's inherited. Maybe yes. This time the previous demon king(A Fu) has an elder brother, He Na. He Na talked about handing over the position to A Fu once, so maybe it implies the position is inherited? No idea. I need to watch future episodes.

Anyway, the only problem I find with A Fun is he should've accepted the position of the demon king when his brother offered it to him. It'd have made things easier & less complicated for him( from his position). But his love for his brother made him turn down that offer at that point.
I don't know how the story will be written in future episodes.

I used to like A Fu earlier on and thought he wasn't so bad. But right now, I feel sorry for He Na but not A Fu.…
I never said murdering innocent people should be justified. You are making a mountain out of a molehill!
You are simply preaching & dumping all moral stuff on me without understanding why A Fu behaves the way he does & why the plot has progressed that way uptill ep 34!

As for A Fu, because of all the reasons I stated earlier, I still empathize with him just like I empathize with the darker version of god of the moon although I know both are bad because both have lots of scars & loaded history to bear. It's not like Luo Ning is the only victim here. A Fu is also a victim. It's just, that unlike Luo Ning, he was not born privileged, so he uses crude, ruthless methods to protect himself as well as others he cares about, and also to get what he wants. On top of that, he puts on an arrogant, tough front and appears to behave insensitively which makes it hard for people to empathize with this character by trying to understand him.Still, a smart, ruthless, cunning character like A Fu hasn't chosen to eliminate Luo Ning yet. This shows he really loves Luo Ning though she is the sister of his enemy. So, I'm looking forward to a redemption arc for both A Fu & darker version of Moon god characters because I love happy endings.

But I don't know how the story writers will design the character development for A Fu in future episodes --- whether they'll turn his personality darker or full of remorse ready for redemption. Anyway, I don't think people should judge A Fu as black & white just like that without understanding his heavy, sad past & present. On top of that, I find Luo Ning's decision to marry his brother really stupid. That'll only piss off an impulsive , hot-headed character even more. She could've just married A Fu to lift the curse after he got the demon king position handed over to him by his brother.
I have already seen A Fu compromise a little for Luo Ning whenever she takes a firm stand. So Luo Ning could've just threatened him that she'll marry his brother if he doesn't stop his scheming ways. What Luo Ning could've done was she could've helped He Na & A fu and the entire aquatic clan by finding ways to mend relations with the immortal clan. It's not like Luo Ning's immortal clan is perfect! They are too judgemental & their punishments are too severe for offences.

Anyway, so far, I empathize with A Fu & I hope he & his brother find ways to save themselves & their clan & I hope this time Luo Ning helps A Fu to clean up the mess he created by somehow finding ways to make everyone satisfied to some extent. But I doubt, that'll happen considering the fact that she is a weak, cute character who only knows how to kill herself. There's no harm in her racking her head sometimes to find solutions just like does when she makes perfumes to find secrets of people.
I don't find it fun to watch characters suffer in perpetuity for the sins they did in the past with no room for change or redemption. So I don't believe A Fu should suffer forever just because he conquered the three realms in the past as demon king. Also, think about it. Don't the immortal realm always boss the aquatic clan around condescendingly ? Who wants to be bossed & humiliated forever?
Also, it'll be quite boring to watch all characters stay all goody-goody. Then there will be no interesting twists & turns!

Anyway, I empathize with A Fu so far & I wish Luo Ning were smarter & sharper. If you have a problem with that, I can't do anything about it. If A Fu becomes darker in future episodes, most probably, it'll be because of Luo Ning & He Na 's naive, short-sighted decision to get married.
I choose to stick to my perspective just like you have your own views.
A Fu is one of the smart characters in the drama so far who brought about chaotic scenarios with the help of the darker version of moon god. This even brought the main leads together & led to their ascension & character development so far.

As for how A Fu will be in future episodes, I have no idea. But so far, I find him better than Bai Feng. It is difficult for a being like A Fu to remain good & pure all the time especially when nothing is in his favour for years! Everyone, including Luo Ning was driving him to a corner in episode 34! Their choices & decisions, especially the choices & decisions of two people he loved the most was driving him crazy & mad. No wonder A Fu is turning dark in episode 34 because he's desperate. Things would've been better if Luo Ning just explained to A Fu that she is only going to be nominally married to He Na. On top of that, she added salt to A Fu's mental wounds with her silly dialogues that He Na is better etc despite hearing A Fu's explanations for why he did what he did so far! After watching episode 34, I honestly wish A Fu never fell for Luo Ning at all. It is pitiful to watch a smart, calculative aquatic demon like him fall into a pitiful, dangerous predicament because of Luo Ning & He Na's hasty decision to imprison him & then get married without revealing the full truth behind why they do this & that. It is the wrong tactic to control a demon like A Fu!
I really, really feel bad for A Fu in episode 34! I want a happy ending for A Fu. I hope the plot for the next six episodes gets written in such a way that both A Fu & Luo Ning gets a happy ending without them hurting each other anymore.

He seriously thinks that for the sake of his clan, he can do anything: kills innocent, creates chaos in 3 realms,…
Sometimes it's necessary to create chaos to rearrange everything ---especially to rearrange all existing structures, systems from scratch.
Just like sometimes war is necessary for peace.
I'm not saying A Fu is a good guy nor am I trying to justify what all he did as completely good. He just uses other characters as tools to fulfill his main mission which is to free his brother and his people from the curse. Earlier, he must have misjudged the depth of his brother's love for Liu Shao which is why his calculations went wrong, and he ended up hurting his brother, He Na.

As for Luo Ning's decision to marry his brother, I still don't think such a decision will make things better in the long run. It would've been better for Luo Ning to marry A Fu after he accepted position of demon king from his brother, He Na. Perhaps that would've triggered a redemptive arc for him too where he realizes his limits & mends his ways? Luo Ning could've threatened A Fu by saying she'll marry his brother if he doesn't stop his scheming ways instead of going ahead with the marriage plan secretly. That'll only infuriate A Fu more & make him more resentful.

But I do agree with you on one thing. I do hope the scriptwriter gives a second chance to all characters so that they get a happy ending or at least a bittersweet ending of their own without hurting themselves and each other anymore. πŸ™‚

From A Fu's perspective, Liu Shao is just a tool for him to be used to achieve his bigger mission to free him as well as his people by bringing down Luo Ge because he's the big shot in the immortal realm & Liu Shao is his main weaknesses that can make Luo Ge kneel. . Also, A Fu isn't attached to Liu Shao like the other main characters, so he is only acting logically to safeguard his as well as his clans' best interests.
I disagree with your interpretation that He Na doesn't care for Luo Ge more. So far, I find He Na more patient & understanding towards Luo Ge's actions than the other way round. But of course, after his second tribulation, Luo Ge has softened more towards He Na.

As for A Fu, because of all the reasons I stayed earlier, I still empathize with him just like I empathize with the darker version of god of the moon although I know both are bad because both have lots of scars & loaded history to bear. As for things concerning Bai Feng, I pointed out 1 & 2 simply because I wanted to, not because you mentioned anything related to her. That has something to do with my writing style, I guess. LoL. I sympathize with her but I only empathize with A Fu.

I used to like A Fu earlier on and thought he wasn't so bad. But right now, I feel sorry for He Na but not A Fu.…
Bai Feng hates Liu Shao mainly for two reasons:
1) she thinks Liu Shao seduced Lu Li
Well, she is wrong there. Lu Li really loves Liu Shao. It's his choice. He explicitly stated that. Still, Bai Feng persists. Her persistence is admirable, but unfortunately she uses negative methods which causes abusement & harassment to Lu Li/Luo Ge and Liu Shao. She has lost her mind, so though I sympathize with her a little, I know Bai Feng has lost all room for redemption.

2) Bai Feng thinks Liu Shao killed her shifu. That isn't the truth. A Fu manipulated her into thinking that way, but Liu Shao did take initiative to confront Lu Sheng, and straightway attacked the half demon with a sword without discussing things first. In his defence, Lu Sheng just wanted his long lost shifu, the god of the moon back.

Bai Feng persists foolishly and doesn't know how to handle her obsession which will really make things bad for her. She hasn't realized it's time to stop. She has really become bad. Still, I don't mind a bittersweet ending for her where she realizes her mistakes, lets go of her venomous scemes towards Lui Ge-Liu Shai couple, and turns over a new leaf.

As for Luo Ge & He Na, I think He Na's friendship towards Luo Ge is deeper than Luo Ge's friendship for He Na. He Na repeatedly asks Luo Ge to return A Fu to him, but Luo Ge keeps hurting He Na by refusing. Also, why can't Luo Ge forgive He Na just because his sister is hanging out with A Fu? What has that got to do with He Na? What can he do about it? He can't just pull lovers apart like Luo Ge's old immortal shifu. Luo Ge should understand He Na's predicament. And on top of this, in episode 33 preview, Luo Ge is shown entertaining suspicions towards He Na. He suspects He Na of scheming. If Luo Ge really regarded He Na as a friend, he shouldn't suspect He Na.
However, Liu Shao does care about He Na in the episodes, so far.

Yes, A Fu is a borderline bad guy, but Lui Ning & He Na 's decision to wed each other to protect all realms will only hurt A Fu more forcing him to take more drastic measures to get what he wants.
I can't believe Luo Ning took the decision to marry He Na especially when she should know how A Fu will react. Like A Fu said, she literally "trampled all over his heart". If she wants to lift the curse by becoming demon queen, she could just marry A Fu after persuading him to accept He Na's demon king position. At the same time she could see to that A Fu remains imprisoned in his aquatic realm underwater while his brother, He Na rules as regent. She could just deceive the immortal realm by covering up this fact. That way, all problems will be resolved. The curse will be lifted. A Fu will get his demon queen back & He Na will be ruling on behalf of A Fu while keeping A Fu locked up till he promises to behave. Afterall, A Fu went down this path thinking that that his brother & people are suffering & he wanted to just restore their glory. Why should his brother & his race suffer for eternity just because he made a mistake as demon king in his previous life?
Also, if A Fu were truly evil, he would've eliminated Luo Ning by now (who is his biggest weakness). Yet, he didn't do that. So, he is bad & ambitious like the darker version of Moon god, but not evil.

Also, Luo Ning is always hung up on protecting her realm & her brother. If anything happens to either, she'll cut ties with A Fu. A Fu is also doing the same except for the fact that he chooses not to cut ties with Luo Ning (which logically thinking, he should've because it won't put him in even more danger). And I don't understand why the god of the moon killed A fu as demon king in his past life without asking any questions. It's not like the demon king killed immortal He Zui. It was she who chose to kill herself. The demon king never wanted her to die. He just wanted everyone, including his wife to not look down on them anymore.

Lastly, Luo Ning only sees A Fu's betrayal. She never sees A Fu's suffering, pain, humiliation & never tries to understand why he makes all those dangerous choices. Unlike Liu Shao, Luo Ning only trusts her eyes & ears, and never tries to make her own strong choices, decisions except maybe making strong choices like committing suicide in her previous life as immortal He Zui. Luo Ning never even tries to find solutions to make the immortals friends with the aquatic demons without hurting anyone, especially A Fu.

I'm not trying to justify what A Fu did is right, but I don't think he deserves to be judged in a black & white manner. I think compared to other characters (except He Na), A Fu has to face more number of obstacles in his path regarding everything ( only Luo Ge matches him there in that aspect).
A Fu is more decisive & ruthless compared to He Na.
A Fu joined hands with the darker version of god of moon to create chaos in the three realms, because sometimes only chaos can break the stalemate of existing scenarios, and lead to creation of new scenarios & situations ( not just for A Fu, for other characters like the main leads too). If you followed each episode closely, you can observe that usually when the main leads drift apart, ready to accept their fate against their will, A Fu and the dark version of god of moon work together as a team to create chaos which lands the main leads in complex scenarios that brings them closer together by improving their relationship.

I'm not accusing Luo Ge. Actually, I admire him. But I admire A Fu too. He seems to be the only smart character among all others except of course, the darker version of god of the moon(who is smarter than A Fu).

I really feel bad for A Fu & the previous demon king who was alive 10,000 years back even though they are both morally grey guys and almost borderline pure bad.

A Fu is just trying to save his race by any means necessary, and also restore the glory of his brother. His only problem is he never expected to fall for the sister of his enemy.

I feel bad for He Na too. Looks like no one in the three realms care about these two brothers truly.

I'm touched by the brotherly love of A Fu for He Na and vice versa so far.
