As I said before, I admire Dylan Wang's acting in love between fairy and devil drama.
Also, I don't have anything against the actor.


But if some day there's a drama being produced which follows the original plot in the novel, Cang Lan Jue, I'd love to see this actor, Dai Gao Zheng portray the role of Dongfang Qingcang. That's my personal preference which I expressed here as a comment. It doesn't mean I expect everyone to agree with me.

And, when it comes to acting, some actors hone their acting skills through more experience and after doing several projects. Sometimes, the director's capability & overall vision for a project also reflects on the acting potential of the actor.
Also, how can one expect an actor who portrays the role of a bossy governor in a different time period to exactly act like Dongfang Qingcang which is an entirely different character part of an entirely different story set in a different universe?

I wouldn't jump to conclusions that this actor can't play the role of Dongfang Qingcang, because sometimes the story, the script, the nature of the role, the genre of the drama, and most importantly, the director's guidance, vision etc can influence an actor's acting potential.
Also, I don't think Dai Gao Zheng is bad at acting.


As for the elegance factor, I think as long as a sufficiently good looking actor with a suitable build perfect for a role like Dongfang Qingcang is in the hands of the right makeup artist & costume designer, the actor can look befitting the role --- appear perfectly elegant without looking extremely effeminate.

But when I see Dai Gao Zheng, his overall build & good looks kind of reminds me of the description of the demon king in the novel, Cang Lan Jue. So, for me, he was a very good potential candidate for the moon supreme role.

I think had this actor, Dai Gao Zheng been chosen to play the role of moon supreme, he'd have perfectly nailed the role of Dongfang Qingcang, especially, in terms of the anti-hero-kind-of looks.
