Can you guys believe people tried to cancel this at one point?????
This is why cancel culture is wrong. You don't know the full story yet...
Solid 10/10 drama. Just a fresh viewing experience imo. Always kept me interested and the synergy of love + politics was good. Not to mention, the OST tracks were excellent.

Started off really good but lost interest at about episode 5. I think I've just watched too many dramas lol. I can already see the ending coming.
Best character for me weirdly is NJ. She's so pretty lol. I hope to see her in more dramas in the future.

Good start for the first ~5 episodes or so, then lagged I think until about 12 or 13. Then the last episodes finally focused on the romance again and were super interesting. I do think this would be a 10, but the abrupt change in episode 17 didn't seem sincere with the rest of the drama. I'm not saying it shouldn't have been the way it was, but if it was important to show that at the end, it should be explored more. The writer, I believe, was trying to *send her message* in one episode, but it just seemed insincere. Amazing acting though; I had literally no complaints with anyone. Soundtrack needed to be better executed. The tracks were good, but they could've been utilized better. The one exception is for romantic scenes, the placement was done perfectly. There was actually a track in the first episode that was the best in the entire series, and they didn't play it again throughout (had other less quality variations).
All in all, it's hard not to compare this with Scarlet Heart. There are very very similar themes if you think about it. But, the edge still goes to Scarlet Heart, cuz the story throughout was better executed, OST is insanely amazing, and dare I say IU and Joonki combo might have a slight edge.
This drama gets a solid 9.5/10 though.

nothing that comes from Hollywood is worth watching. I'm all done with it, K-drama is superior. And I've lived…
I understand your disillusionment with Hollywood, as I am the same, but something tells me if a good director picked this up (while the writer and some actors stayed Korean), the end result would be good indeed.

I gave it a 9/10, but I'm usually pretty generous with ratings.
The concept, story, cinematography, and CGI were all top notch. Music could've been done better.
Where this went wrong is Netflix producing it. This should've been on a network (SBS, MBC, jTBC) as a 16 episode series. They could've explained things better and gave a better viewing experience. Then Netflix should've bought rights to stream it.
BUT, I do understand the production costs would have been massive. I guess this show is just a victim of its time. Everyone wants the Korean market, but don't want to gauge their pockets.
I guarantee you though, if this was made in Hollywood (and keep Gong Yoo in it), it would have been ~15 episodes and a huge hit.

now i've got trust issues. whenever gong yoo is in anything where he's a father or has a relationship with a child,…
He's most likely still alive. There won't be a season 2 to show it though. Production costs are probably too high for Netflix to justify a season 2.

Half of the haters here keep copy pasting some comment they found on Twitter and the rest write essays with ROMANTICIZATION…
If you listen to them, they basically sound like robots spitting out the same nonsense. Shame on them for trying to invalidate others' work. If you don't like something, DON'T TURN ON JTBC AND WATCH THE DRAMA. SIMPLE. These people are so stupid they won't let ANYONE watch it. It's FICTION. GET OVER IT.

Cancelled in Korea? Yes. Dropped by Disney? No. Probably expect kissing scenes in episodes 10-15 or so. Don’t…
This isn’t racist tho. If anything this kinda appeals to China who they love.

It doesnt glossover the real cruelty though. Its set later in 1987 during the elections and displays the corruption…
Nobody cares about the Koreans. It’s a Disney show, it belongs to the world.

I guess I’m very ignorant then. You know, I’m gonna like seeing you all cry while this drama airs. You can’t stop it anymore. It belongs to the world now. 😛

The only time Disney+ gave us a favor by buying some of the rights for Snowdrop and probably won't get canceled.
Yea I think this drama became international. It kinda doesn’t matter what the Korean public thinks. Like it or not, more money is made outside Korea now and that’s why it won’t be canceled.
