Hopefully, the success of this dramas heralds a new age of more serious melodramatic historical shows. I've sorta been bored with the typical fluffy, romcom historical dramas and long to see old historical 'hero' dramas return with a fresh take on concepts like women's autonomy, as well the seriousness of political intrigue, etc. I really hope we can see a high-budget political or martial arts drama that takes place in the three kingdoms period! Something like queen seondeok? I just think it would be awesome :) I LOVE this drama!!
Sorry. Don’t care for the FL. She seems very silly and annoying . The power dynamic of a slave and master relationship…
what was problematic was you defending those hating on LSY for her looks. no wonder, you dislike her character, smh. Also, it's a given when watching any realistic historical drama that there will be depictions of the political/ social hierarchy of the time.
lol is you're being sarcastic. He's funny and silly whenever the King threatened to do something to him lol
im cereal!!! old, skinny, feeble eunuchs are so attractive. I could care less about any of the male leads. I just watch historical cdramas for the old men
wait I am just curious if there's gonna be a love triangle here?
I was wondering that too! I'm not sure, honestly, since it seems Deok Im will be sort of an opponent to Deok Ro as she gets closer to the king. Moreover, his sister will enter the palace eventually, and it's said in the relationship charts that she becomes 'wary' of him.
Honestly, this is a pretty good drama. I just can't help but notice that Chinese costume dramas would be top-tier if they just cut out all the filler and shrunk the episodes to around 20-25 episodes. and stopped using dubbed sounds and voices. Some arcs are simply unnecessary. Yang Mi, per usual, is fantastic here.
That’s your opinion and you are welcome to it but it’s not your place to tell others how to feel. Stay in…
Who are you to say it won't? are you omnipotent, all-seeing, and all-knowing, that you can infer this won't rattle the mind of at least one person? I never asked for your opinion of her looks. anywho. I am defending Lee Se Young because she's an amazing actress who's been in the business for 15+ years. She's got a lovely personality and I simply can't stand watching others hate on her for the most superficial of reasons. As a young woman myself, I know that appearances are a sensitive topic and lookism reeks of sexism. That is all.

They don't have to think that she's beautiful.. I have a problem with people HATING on her looks publicly. That is messed up and redundant to the drama's plot & has nothing to do with her acting --which is what matters. (if you want to watch cheesy idol dramas, there are plenty of Korean and Chinese ones)

Robin, you answered MY comment. Obviously it bothered you, or you wouldn't be commenting? You 're contradicting yourself because you just said that it's not my place to tell people to stop hating on an actress.... If you actually cared about others, you would be against all types of hatred and bullying. You're acting partial--where were you when people were calling Lee Se Young ugly?
others can say the same to you.. don't do moral policing.. take a leaf out of your own advice
You can dislike things. That's up to you. Hating on Lee Se young for being 'ugly' however, publicly, is just sad. There is no reason to voice your dislike for her visuals on public forums unless it's just out of spite. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Humans are not products. Stop treating them like their items you can just consume and toss away. Realize that behind the screen is an actual human beings who hurts too.

Even if Lee Se Young doesn't fit your personal standards of beauty, there is literally no reason to bash her online about something that is out of her control.. that's just sad af. Who does that?? Moreover, she fits korean beauty standards perfectly (small face, double eyelid, defined nose, ect)
That’s your opinion and you are welcome to it but it’s not your place to tell others how to feel. Stay in…
Robin, you think its right to let people hate on other human beings because of superficial reasons? That lets me know all i need to know about the way you treat others.
