That’s your opinion and you are welcome to it but it’s not your place to tell others how to feel. Stay in…
So, you're telling me it is not my place to tell people not to hate on the looks of a actress? You are a grown up, yet you think its perfectly find to critique the way another human being looks? Just because she is a public figure doesn't mean ANYONE has the right to complain about her looks. Dramas should be critiqued based on their plot and acting merit, not the 'beauty' of the actors. This is a historical drama, after all, they prettied up the historical figures by miles already..

Moreover, they saw each other as children for a brief second (when she kicked him over the ripped book) and didn't recognize each other

I think her brother is actually the foster son of the princess (he was also born into a poor family) I would assume that Deok Ro would know the whereabouts of his sister and that she will eventually become the queen bc Deok Im will just become a concubine in the future

Are people seriously hating on Lee se Young's looks?? She is GORGEOUS. She has doe-like eyes with a delicate face! She nails the role of an inquisitive and lively Deok Im! If you guys are watching dramas for the visuals and not the plot and acting, you can kindly excuse yourself and watch something else.

I honestly wish they adapted the novel into a movie rather than a drama version.. huaiji and Hui Rou's relationship left so much to be desired..they cut scenes out. I wish she could have matured just a little more by the end but the book and history demands that she is mentally ill. Poor girl.

Good lord, the adult princess is so obnoxious! She is an self-entitled, self-centered, judgmental woman. She doesn't…
I agree with many of your points, but the difference is that her mother in law was publicly kissing up to her future-in-laws at the banquet. Hui rou doesn't dare be as public as her or Concubine Zhang (well only when she is criticising her father!) As for her asking huaiji how he is and all that, I agree, I wish they explored his character more in the drama because he is always so solemn. I don't know why the scriptwriter didn't include that, but my only commentary is that we dont see people ask deep questions like that in general in this drama. The king barely tried to ask actual questions to find out how Queen Cao was feeling, nor did she ask Maoze any of these. Besides the point, Hui Rou has always treated Huaiji the best. Even if Hui Rou asked Huaiji if he wanted to do something, knowing his character, he wouldn't ever decline her. He didn't stop Hui Rou from going after Cao Ping, even when she told him she'd probably stop if he didn't like it. Since she cares so much about what he thinks of her, she does respect him. Anywho, huaiji eventually rebukes this 'propriety' and becomes as frivolous as the princess by reciprocating her love, concealing her affair, and getting her out of the palace. In the actual novel, they kiss and a lot more ?? anyway, I ship them both so much. I like it better than she's fiery, but still kind. It's better than being submissive!

They changed the title because of the Coronavirus. Wuhan is linked to the words 'lonely city' so they changed it

Good lord, the adult princess is so obnoxious! She is an self-entitled, self-centered, judgmental woman. She doesn't…
The thing is, you are looking at this from a modern perspective. Back in ancient China, propriety and reputation was EVERYTHING. Hui Rou is reasonably annoyed by her mother-in-law by her embarrasing and yes-man behavior. It's obvious the mother-in-law is kissing up to the royal family, which makes the princess angry ( I would be too!) The princess is no patron saint, but she IS kind. As she grows up, she realizes the hypocrisy in the royal house and Is able to criticize her father. She is immature before her marriage, obviously. We are talking about a rich teenager who had to ask huaiji about the true meaning of being poor. On the next topic, huaiji is a EUNUCH. He has no use outside of the Palace, nor does he have any lofty prospects. Sadly, back then, these type of servants just accepted they were lower than their master's. Thus, Huaiji has no choice but to be humble. He doesn't dare to recognize himself as an equal to the princess- but Hui Rou does! huaiji is her EQUAL. She loses her temper only to him, and calls him 'brother!' it's obvious she sees him as family. She would not tell all her secrets to him if she didn't care for him deeply. Moreover, Huaiji isn't uncomfortable with her, more like concerned. He love to be around the princess, whether she is crying or happy (there's a quote somewhere in the original novel) yes, Hui rou was selfish during her Infatuation with ping, but it's commonplace when you're being declined passionate love in favor for mediocrity. She's ignorant of many things, and you can see her grow up mentally as the episodes go by. She isn't sly or crafty- she doesn't have the heart to endure dishonestly so she isn't capable of manipulating anyone.

Why do you think so? I mean she's spoiled and young. She's trapped and can't even marry the person she likes. I think her behavior is justifiable in her context, as she lacks life experience and has to restrain herself constantly. Huaiji loves her because she sees him as much more than a servant-she discriminates to those who deserve to be discriminated against. She has a very modern outlook on that aspect.

Princess set it up with help of her mother.
Ventriloquism to mimic the voice they heard of the eunuch and the fire to distract everyone to leave
It was very unbecoming of the princess to be so cruel and have maids hit for petty things, especially when her mother use to be of such low status. She could be defiant without being cruel. I wish this show had more episodes so I could understand the love line more- the romance is simply to abrupt. Wei yingluo is still the best character and I prefer her over her daughter.. the twists were nice, but I'm still confused- did she actually forget the incident that happened in the last episode? Didn't she remember that he declared his love for her? Why DOES the prince love her If they are so different? I don't think mother and daughter are too similar except in stubbornness and revenge. Wei yingluo had way more conscious than her daughter. I expected more
