Love of Asian Dramas

Does anyone else find the product placement odd for this show ? Like Sunhill cigarettes are definitely paying for product placement even though there is a cancer warning or stroke warning with every time they are shown.

It just feels weird to see cigarettes advertised. I don’t think I ever seen that in another kdrama.

I’m trying to watch the first few episodes but I just can’t get over the dub. I loved Feng Shao Feng in The Story of Ming Lan and his voice is so different in this one.

I’m low key loving it 🥰! I was surprised at all the mixed reviews.

It's rating R on Viki. It's definitely more adult than 15+.

I didn’t look at the rating on Viki and I wasn’t prepared for the adult content when I started it. After an about 30 minutes I knew this drama wasn’t for me.

Disney+ Korea has advertised it. I don't know where it will be internationally but I'm crossing my fingers that it's somewhere else.

Maybe this is unpopular but I actually enjoyed this drama. Definitely flawed and I may have wished that more of the characters were in prison or worse. But I truly enjoyed the experience. I watched this with my mom and we had so much fun chatting about the happy moments and complaining about the aggravating characters.

What is the difference between the TV and online version?

It's barely started and it's currently a 6.5 on MDL. It could be terrible or it could be great, but shouldn't we give it a chance before we rate it.

More like a love square. All the male leads like the FL.

It’s bittersweet like most fantasy Kdramas.

Why is everyone talking about whether this will have a romance or not... It's pretty obvious it will. I think the tone surprised me the most. It's pretty comedic.

I was expecting much but I'm looking forward to each new episode. So far it's an underrated gem.

Viki

So I'm a bit behind everyone else because I'm watching it on Viki but I loved the first two episodes. But I'm different from a lot of viewers because I'm watching for Zhao Li Ying, instead of Wang Yibo. I haven't seen the Untamed. The story of Minglan is one of my favorite dramas. I like that right from the start they are portraying the FL as competent rather than childish and stupid. And I was interested in the story right from episode 1 rather than ten episodes in like most Chinese Wuxia / Xianxia dramas, I have seen.

I probably wouldn't have watched this drama but George Hu is one of my favorites and I'm excited to see him in another Tdrama. He has such a great presence on screen. So far I'm enjoying this drama.
