well i think this is because romance is very restrictive, but if you talk about love hell yes suddenly your scope widens. i can give two examples, a) familial/filial love and b) bromance or sismance.
e.g. i watched What Happens to My Family a while back and totally fell in love with the genre, though i am not someone who can usually withstand 50 episodes drama. i also fell in love more with sageuk recently, and watched My Country which i fell in love head over heels with because of the amazing bromance.
to be honest, in real life, chemistry need not be always sizzling or butterfly-ish. you can have a different type of chemistry with different people in your life and that's okay. so to sum up, seemingly lukewarm on-screen chemistry is usually not a problem for me if the script is amazingly solid.
I'm glad everyone agrees that "Ji Chang Wook" is 1st place. Everything about him is beautiful. His smile is
yeah my personal favourite is Seo Kang Joon but Hyun Bin's manly, clean cut image after CLOY is just way too strong to beat right now.
Seo Kang Joon has an airing drama too, but when he has his hair down i find that he looks less hot (pardon my expression). i like his messy wavy brown hair in CITT and gelled up hair in AYHT best.
as for the other men, i guess their level of handsome is very unique to their current age and individuality, thus is very open to subjective liking.
e.g. how do you decide who's more handsome between Song Joong Ki vs. Lee Dong Wook for example? that's why i already have another list which is only for the male actors who age like a fine wine above 35 y/o, and another, hot ahjussi actors above 45 y/o.
Might I add that this film is definitely my ticket into Korean cinema. Could I get some recommendations for Korean…
the major film award shows in South Korea are Baeksang, Blue Dragon Awards and Grand Bell Awards. you can look up the winners for best film/director for more award winning titles from these award shows :)
