Is it as disturbing as Strangers from hell?
Strangers from Hell is way darker, this is okay until the last 30 minutes of the movie.

Might I add that this film is definitely my ticket into Korean cinema. Could I get some recommendations for Korean…
well you could start going backwards with Bong Joon Ho's previous works, Mother and Memories of Murder are tops on the list. there are also many other Korean thrillers that are good, i personally recommend Hwayi the monster boy. You can look up more recommendations from Hwayi's drama page and continue to snowball from there.

for someone who won an Oscar, his bio is extremely short LOL. did Bong Joon Ho write the original screenplay or this guy? what is the difference between screenplay vs. screenwriting if anyone knows?

It's unfortunate she was addicted to drugs. I don't really have an opinion about her sentencing. I feel like drugs…
yeah if not mistaken my country recently proposes a legislation that drug addiction be treated as a public health issue rather than a criminal charge which is great. i appreciate your insight :)

i read some comments and there seems to be a major loophole in the murder of Na Jun Seok where there were police officers around but no one run as fast as lightning to check on him while the thin wire was cutting/slicing his neck.

the good thing is, i remember reading/watching similar murder method in Detective Conan. the writer for that manga gives us so many interesting murder cases that it's nice to see a Korean TV show try to pick that up, instead of the usual method of stabbing, gun shot etc.

i do understand that serial killers usually have to be really smart especially if they also kill men in bigger size than them, because that means they usually overpower the other person not by physical strength, but by their wits which makes them more interesting.

i am still more interested in the villain here more than the ML character himself (Jang Hyuk). really hope he will come forward and become more involved with the investigation from now.

Oh, he’ll eventually come out, if you’ve watched Ep.4 you’ll know that “The Guy” was aiming at sending…
thank you, have just finished ep. 4 and i do make a point to watch first before replying. didn't fckin disappoint!!!

after #Parasite winning 4 top categories at the Oscars tonight, i would love to see a writer/editor publish a full length editorial or feature article about Parasite on MDL and compare it to the other Oscar nominees especially for Best Picture and Best Directing.

i finally watched it when it made inroads in the Golden Globe and it definitely peeked my interest and made me question things about social divide, but it didn't make me feel enthralled from watching (i admit the ending was pure madness).

i just wish someone who knows cinema would explain it for us in great length, so those who miss out can properly understand the real artistry in this. i know there are MDL users here who are students of films/cinema. i always have this problem with films, because if you're dealing with a complex subject and intricate characters, there needs to be more time spent on it than just a mere 2 hours.

p/s interestingly i am watching Mr. Sunshine and it also deals witht the subject of social class albeit in a more backdated time; can't wait to finish it.

to tell you the truth, I’m pretty used to Jang Hyuk playing all kinds of roles, so this time I’m very curious…
Yes i do think they'll make him leave his cocoon at some point.

What are some of his best characters to date?

on episode 3 and i think the premise in essence really reminds you of Voice.

but i think it's less interesting than Voice because here you have Jang Hyuk directing behind the scene exactly like Centre Kang in Voice, only the gender has reversed.

i just like Jang Hyuk to do the actual dirty jobs and get hands on a lot more which we don't get to see here. before watching, i actually thought he's the Team Leader here, like the Team Leader in Criminal Minds KR who had PTSD and took leave of absence but later came back to supervise his team directly.

i probably don't like the fact that he's so secluded here from the rest of other investigating police officers.

if you are currently watching this, do you feel the same?

Could you link the respective MDL filtering for dramas under a specific Network in the description? it would make…
sure, thank you for suggesting. i have added it here and will do the same for other network lists such as TvN, MBC, OCN, KBS and SBS. :')

wow the opening episode is just great, and the preview for episode 2 is even better!

but i am actually sad because they gave us a hint about the car accident-explosion scene and we had the news before that some staffs got injured filming that really dangerous scene. really hope that the people injured will make full recovery soon.

personally i really like Jang Hyuk in this because he's the next level eccentric/mysterious. i don't think i have seen a ML in other dramas with that personality before, other than WATCHER's Do Chi Gwang.

this drama is going to be lit!
