I hope she gets popular enough to get better make-up artist to do justice to her beauty. She acts so well that these small flaws which shows up during close-up scenes seems such an injustice to her.

I admire the Emperor cos he may go around dressed like a homeless dude but seems to be the most intelligent, cunning and ruthless out of the few Palace drama I watched (don't quite enjoy Palace politics but JOL is an exception).
I feel he's only using FX to get more of the secret his mum left behind. I also suspect he may have inadvertently caused FX's mum's death while trying to get secrets out of her.

Though he seems to be the most intelligent emperor I've ever watched in a drama (to be fair i don't watch that many), I hate him too. So ruthless even to own child.

Same here. The actress for S2 seems awkward and doesn't fit the role. I hope she's not going to be in S3.

Hmm... I'm not a fan of male lead with harem but really do agree with you here because Haitang Duo Duo seems to have more chemistry with FX and no extra baggage like family members who can't wait to kill him off and wife who has to avenge her dead brother (and probably expected to be dead psychotic mum).

When his 2nd bodyguard with similar emo hairstyle appeared it was a double dose of annoyance. Thank god he doesn't appear too much.

I remember watching this, enjoying it though in the beginning a bit weirded out by the JOL siblings paired up as couple here. Sadly, decided to drop it halfway when too many characters end up dying after I've started to grow attached to them. Not my cup of tea.

For me, the most lovable female character in both JOL S1 and S2 is FX's sister who is the most loyal and trust him wholeheartedly.

True. While I read comments before deciding to continue watching most dramas, I would still try watching a few eps before deciding to drop.

Fortunately, not a cliffhanger like S1. Otherwise, the wait for S3 would be more torturous.

Same sentiments. I like this drama but it got too sickeningly sweet with so many episodes. I think 24 episodes would be more than enough to fawn over the perfect ML whom we know does not exist in this world but would like to imagine he does and we end up with one.

I usually wait until drama finish airing (with HEA) before starting but couldn't resist this one because of PMY.
I stopped when Yu Ra made an appearance cos I foresee she'll be around to replace the psycho childhood best friend in creating problems.
Shall continue when the last 2 episodes are out so that after going through all the bad moments I can enjoy the good ones.

Ikr... I thought I was the only one that thought all monsters look like the baddies from Transformers. And seems like instead of different monsters based on each humans greed/desire when they turn, now they all look the same.
Probably too troublesome to come up with ideas for new monsters and save money and effort to create new ones too.
Makes me miss the protein monster.

I'm thinking maybe because main characters shot to stardom after S1 and are either too busy or expensive to have all of them in the cast for S2. Hence more useless side characters which I wouldn't even care if they're killed off (and yet they still lived on like parasites and roaches agh...)

I was curious like you and was contemplating reading the webtoon if it helps bring clarity but was told it doesn't help much. If anything, the S1 drama was better than how it was in the webtoon.
