Yups... that was the crux of my issue with the novel... she is a total doormat. I really hoped they would show…
I do not think she was a doormat when I read the novel. Their past life relationship is so pure and she loved and admired ZCS so much but he died in such a horrible way without even a chance to say goodbye. My heart broke reading that. After reincarnated, she retained her memories of her past life while ZCS doesn’t . That is why she was so accepting of most circumstances as long as she gets to be with him.
That's why I'm sad to know they have to change the story from the novel because reincarnation is censored. It…
I understand they had to change it due to censorship. But, honestly it is kinda unbelievable for a beautiful (conservative) girl to just accept a marriage proposal via telephone when she doesn’t even know the background of the guy. Hence I felt sad. Imagine her yearning for this guy her whole life and always feeling she’s different from others until he finally appeared. That’s why she’s more patient and tolerant as she treasures the opportunity to be reunited again (to the extent some commented she’s like a doormat and keep giving in). It’s such a beautifully sad story (that ends happily).

That was what I meant. You can try reading the novel. It was beautifully translated by peanuts and hoju https://hui3r.wordpress.com/mo-bao-fei-bao/one-life-one-incarnation-beautiful-bones-completed/ I’ve re-read it a number of times before knowing it was made into a drama. Once you finish this novel try reading Really, Really Miss You by the same author. It’s good too and I’m waiting for it to be made into drama as well (hopefully, soon).
Well reincarnation plot is censored in China but the screenwriter cleverly modified it to FL being a dubbing actress…
That sounds like a silly reason to censor something. Unless the percentage of these incidences are high. Anyway, I recall being told a very long time ago that suicide is not considered as natural death and therefore those who do so cannot be reincarnated or something. These girls should really know the potential possibilities before deciding on something like that. Unless they’re facing mental issues which made them unable to think clearly.

My worry is they do not retain the same cast. The emperor may go around looking like a beggar but he’s one of the most cunning one out of most dramas. Also other characters including the one played by Xiao Zhan.

Joy of Life is one of my favourite drama - but I hated it because it ended with a cliffhanger. Had I known that I may not start watching until the sequel is out (and miss the gem).
Never seen anyone propose via phone.... LOL.. breakup, yes, but marriage proposal?.. nope (≧∀≦)
That's why I'm sad to know they have to change the story from the novel because reincarnation is censored. It would make more sense for her to accept if she actually retained all her past life memories and have waiting for ML to appear all these while.

Can't understand why reincarnation is censored... Can't they put it as fantasy genre or something. This change made me sad. The novel was very good. FL having memories of her past life seems more poignant and I could feel her excitement in finally seeing the ML at the airport. Now I'm wondering if I should start on One and Only then continue to this or wait until this finish airing and know how the plot is like before I start... sigh...
Salute you for being the only one defending right now cos when the drama first aired there were plenty if haters…
Front part of the drama is really slow burn in order to give background to the characters in the drama. But this drama focus is on the main couple i.e. background story of both, how they got together (mobile game), male lead's personal struggle (2nd rejection as he feels he has nothing to offer), acceptance (his life is empty without her), life after they got together and until the male lead achieve his dream) and won't have those silly arguments/misunderstanding/bad villains/relatives/politics - so if those are what you enjoy then it'll seem boring to you. If you don't mind spoilers, maybe try watching short youtube clips. If you still don't feel the chemistry then you can drop it for good cos you've really tried. I always do that before I totally drop a drama. Watch up to at least 1/3 of the drama. If there's no 'feel' or I hate how it goes (side characters killed off for no reason, etc..), I would just resort to watching youtube clips of those scenes which viewers are discussing about. If those scenes are interesting enough I will try to watch again - feels bad to drop without reason once I start a drama. Makes me feel kinda guilty to the production team and cast for abandonment though I doubt they care/know. P/s Cons of liking this drama will be, once you get hooked you'll start comparing other drama couple to this and won't feel satisfied. Their interaction as a couple seems so real and natural that it's quite difficult to see they're only acting their parts. The way the male lead hugs really shows how he treasure her - too sweet.
I agree with you.. Hence, I think it was necessary for him to reject her in Ep15.. I think he already loved her…
YT did mention he put a lot of thought into it when JJ argued that she loved him more because love means you don't have to care about all those stuff. It was such an emotional moment. Women usually feels they should get a partner who loves them more.
I agree with you.. To actually be able to enjoy this drama, one has to be patience because the leads actually…
I like slow-burn but not to the extent it's 'draggy'. This drama balances it out nicely. I've dropped quite a number of dramas when it's so slow-burn and dragged out that main couple only got together in the last few eps with unnecessary separation and some villains/third-party interference thrown in. Really frustrating and I'd avoid that if possible.

I like happy endings too and that's why YAMG is so difficult to move on from. You stopped when it was supposed to get better. The pain of 2nd rejection to both is felt by many viewers. Subsequently we get to see a 'soulless' YT living his life without JJ (you can watch on fast fwd if you find aerospace stuff boring). Then YT came to his senses and its his turn to 'grovel' for a chance with JJ. Once they're together, the episodes are filled with their sweet interaction as a couple. They like to outwit each other and the 'meet in-law' session is the best among other dramas.
Death by deboning. Can you imagine. The novel says he never once cried out in anguish though.
Cannot love this post cos its so heartbreaking. Thats what made me hold off watching. Reading it is bad enough. Need the happy ending sequel with confirmed date of airing before starting this drama.

What's wrong with people nowadays? Don't they have anything better to do?
