And you need to pay w/ viki - highway robbery. Viki has hired professional subbers. We wait a few days for our…
I got the standard viki pass, because I promissed myself, if they ever release The Wolf I'll do that, but I still watched all the episodes somewhere else in chinese just because I'm an impatient person;) I re-watch it on viki later:)
I love love love and love runyu... And it is because I love him too damn much as a character that I can never…
I was also very impressed about his acting here. So I went and watched some of his other dramas but the part in AoL ist his best. So unfortunate. He should definitely get some better roles, it is a waste. "And the Winner is Love" was a disappointment but he got the girl. Princess Silver was good but he is not the lead and you get another hearthbreak. I liked "The spring of my life" though.
I had to drop it because I couldn't bear it anymore. I became wary with the lack of character development and…
Realy? For me Runyu was one of the most impressive and detailed character developments I have ever seen. Of course I don't know at what point you droped the series;)
I'm eager to watch this drama i heard it's good but the whole wuxia theme and fantasy setting literally turning…
It depends, what you like I guess. There is some wuxia but not that much. The whole movie is one big fantasy setting - so if you don't like that, that might be a problem;) There is a big focus on romance and the series is quite a long watch. Buuut: the plot is interesting and well written (acctually there are few plots) the characters and the story are well developed and complex. It feels like its own universe. There are many characters one can easly get attached to. The romance is the main theme but again: it is nicely done and the diffrent interactions in the threesome aren't boring. The female lead can get annoying in the first, let say 25 episodes;), because she is so childisch. But her character develops too. Personaly this show is my favorite. I'm rewatching it. The first time I focused on the night immortal part and kind of skipped the whole human world part. Now I'm focusing on that and I quite like it too. It is like a separate story within the story.
I want to ask about it too. Can the person who made this change share with the class where she got the information?…
Not all of us are here though because of Xiao Zhan lol. It is The Wolf site, not Xiao Zhan's fanpage. I kind of agree with Kristina. Many of us are here every day just to check on the update of the Wolf or to post some casual comments while waiting for the release date. I think many people who are checking this page regulary didn't even know who Xiao Zhan is until recently. Yet last few weeks by reading the comments here sometimes it feels like one landed on some kind of minefield that one is not aware of yet. It might be fun occasionally but mostly it is kind of annoying. Thanks for the updates though;)
It is not that bad as cmschatton is picturing it. There is still the option of going into cryogenic sleep. No worries, my great great grandchildren will wake you up when it airs.
How is the rating so high when all of the comments either hate it or are lukewarm? Is it worth the watch?
Before all remaining episodes were released all at once, so like till ep. 24 or something, the general mood in the comments was worshiping. Any different opinion was taken very defensive. Sometimes politely, sometimes like this one: "DON'T WATCH and STOP GIVING BAD REVIEWS! THANK YOU". So I guess people, who did not like the show that much stopped commenting or posted only very carefull opinions. The mood shifted after all episodes were released. And now the common opinion in the comments seems to be that the show is bad, so I guess the people, who still like the show may not be so eager to post anymore. Generally I think there are still many people who like the show the way it is, even though the story is not that ambitious (they just don't post that much anymore since the mood switched) - that is, why the rating is still high. Of course it is theoretically possible that the show was wonderfull till ep. 25 and became horrible after that....;) But i my opinion the show was quite the same all the way (acctually I find it watchable from ep. 33 onwards if you skip all the flashbacks). You must find out for yourself if you like it or not. The plot is very simple - it focuses on the love story of the two leads, it is most of the time going back and forth between them: when one confesses his love the other turns him back and vice versa. There is a lot of talking, not much action or side plots. If you like Luo Yunxi you may want to watch it for him. He did a decent job (his voice was dubbed though and I don't like the character he is playing). It is light entertainment, not horrible but not very good either. The first episode was ok.. after that I was skipping a lot but did watch it till the last episode.
I watched the movie before the drama and I'm glad about it, because it spared me the urge to compare. And I just loved it. It focuses on the two leads (everyone else in the movie is basicly just a background for them). And the story is not told from a to b. It is more of a very quite soft storytelling where the aim is not to explain everything but focuses more on the beauty of relationship. It kind of reminds me of Tom Tykwer's "Heaven". + the two leads act beautifully.
