They also change the way they addressed each other. Tou is calling Xue Zhi as Zhi'er, usually, you only say that…
It is just a common respect form between younger people. You are not strangers and you are not old, so "mister" would be to formal. If you know each other and you are both young, you still want to show respect to each other though, than the younger person would call the older gege (older brother) or jiejie (older sister). If you are formally a couple, you wont do this anymore. But they aren't yet;)

This is usually the kind of drama that is for my taste. But i'm on ep. 12 and still don't feel like is catching…
I'm at ep 18 and unfortunatelly feel the same as you. I see that many people are enjoying the drama though, so maybe that just the two of us:)
For me it feels, I don't know, forced? Disconnected? I'm kind of missing the right word here. As if they were reading lines. The story is all about romance but I just don't feel the romance in it. To less sparks between them. Maybe because the lines are to cheesy, so it does not feel belivable. Or because the characters are to simple. Kind of one-dimentional. Or maybe it is simply to much talking and to less interactions, which does make the story monotonous. Yukee also feels more like she is the younger sister or apprentice but definitely not a lover.
Pity because I realy love Luo Yunxi, he is my perfect man and I will stick to the end of this drama for him. He expresses emotions beautifuly here as well, it just feels like it doese not fit to the rest of it. The story feels to flat for big emotions. Like he was sometimes playing in one movie and the rest of the cast in another? I don't know, how to put it better. It just does not feel right. I am enjoying him smiling for a change though:)

At which episode?
Oh thanks. Originally, after watching episode 15, I though he will soon fell very sick with the disease (he appears to have fever and cough himself) and we'll spent the next few episodes watching her taking care of him, as she seems to be the only person, who isn't geting sick. But after your explanation, it is starting to make a lot more sense to me.

His changed voice bothered me so much that I looked up information about it. One Chinese article I read with the…
if they changed his voice, because it didn't match the role, then those people don't have ears:):) He has a very nice voice and it fits his appearance better. If they changed it due to time shortage or covid or both, then I can understand. It still is a pity though. I keep switching to Ashes of Love between the episodes to listen to the orginal voice:): ) Maybe it is just how my brain reacts but I realy don't like dubbing of any kind. Especially if I know the actor. If they've changed his skin color it would be similar distracting to me:) Imagine a blue Luo Yunxi:):)

This is a message of the producer Chen Yushan to Talu Wang for his b-day. A reference to the airing of the drama…

Why did they change his voice? It's distracting. Is it dubbed? For now the first 12 episodes didn't get me hooked. The plot focus to much on the love story. I mean: I'm watching this series because of the love story and it is still to much. The chemistry between them is also not quite that big. I know, that some chinese dramas develope slowly, so I will continue watching this. Also because Leo is so pleasant to watch. But why did they have to change his voice? Pity. In my opinion actors voice is as much characteristic and important to his acting as his looks.
