I feel the same about this, it got such a bad rap and it's soooo much better than 9/10 of the c-dramas that have been released, especially recently. They pan VS's acting when she's just low key and not over-the-top like most girls are portrayed now, and the story line, which is not nearly as wacky as some I've seen out there that have gotten raves. It baffles me. I've already watched this twice, and i really hope they finish the story somehow. Felt so open ended to me.

I've never seen Dexter, but reading the synopsis I could definitely see it getting adapted. Crime/serial killer…
Agreed, with all the i knew you in a past life, love triangles and supernatural drama, Haven seems like it was tailored for a Korean remake. ^.^

For all the "chaste" and "hugs and pecks" comments out there.... https://kisskh.at/8929-secret-love-affair. Not your typical K-drama. For adults only ;) And then all of ya'll tell me again he can't play a Korean Jaime.
Keep in mind there isn't going to be anyone in Korea who is going to be a perfect representation of a 6'3" burly young Scotsman. Caitriona herself is 5'10".. and i'm pretty sure the female suggestions for Claire weren't close to that. Also the age difference between Jaime and Claire/ Ah In and Hye Kyo is exactly the same. I can totally buy this theoretical casting. What is needed for these roles is a maturity, depth and intensity. Not just a pretty face or sexy charm, at least impo. <3

omg I always forget he was in sungkyunkwan scandal!! the gifs of him and joongki in that drama are what made me…
Probably one of the most hilarious Korean dramas I have ever seen, it had me rolling for hours. Those two alone made it worth the time spent. I totally recommend it if you need something to lighten your day.

If it helps at all, Yoo Ah In plays a somewhat similar character in https://kisskh.at/39-sungkyunkwan-scandal. I just finished that one, and had to chuckle when I saw this post. As for those that may think he doesn't have enough animal magnetism or whatever to pull off Jaime... well. Just put the timed comments on for one episode of that show. I was honestly a little terrified for the guy after that, I don't know if it's safe for him to walk out the front door. ;) Not going to fangirl, cuz yikes, but the guy is a phenomenal actor as well.
Also, it would be ...interesting to see him in a role with Song Joong Ki's RL wife/ex/love interest, after seeing Joong Ki chase him around for 20 episodes. Oh, the intermingling in K-Dramas. I shudder.
Loved this article, thanks for the fun and fodder for the imagination!

Hey everyone! Hope you are healthy and happy. I just started this one last night, and had so much fun! A great show to sit and have a glass of wine with before bed. I instantly fell in love with all the characters so far.
I'm a little ashamed to admit that I had way more salacious fun with the idea of a "meat fairy" than I should have. It had me laughing uproariously for hours. Poor Choi Won Young.... he will always and forever be the meat fairy to me now.

Art, in its many forms- be it literature, theatre, studio, cinematography or anything else- should be thought provoking. It needs to be. While it's nice if it brings us joy, for we need that in our lives as well, imho it's just as necessary for it to stir us in many different ways. That it made you uncomfortable and needled your mind a little makes me want to cheer. The prejudice and judgement in society SHOULD be a trigger for us. If for nothing else, I think the rating might be bumped up for its complexity and ability to make you question. I'm glad you put these thoughts out there, I'm sure many feel the same.

Review See You Again
Yaaaas! someone agrees with me on this show....
Agreed about Yi Pei, and I think both of the guys were charming. Nothing they did could have saved this tho ... le sigh lol

Thank you, I was wondering if I had gotten too picky over c-dramas. While it starts out as a really fun satire, it seems to just forget what it wanted to be halfway along and falls into the old cliches, where she is just such an idiot (to the point I wanted to scream), and he's domineering (to the point I wanted to yeet him). Wasn't this what they were trying to step out of in the first place? Yeesh. Totally agree with you on this one. We'll have to agree to disagree on Alhambra tho ;) Thanks for adding me.

Thank you. I was seriously wondering if it was just me, i couldn't even get past the second episode. Dropped this one so fast lol

We must have the strongest constitutions ever... I like a nice stroll in the rain too! Everything smells so amazing during a summer storm. And not so much as a single sneeze ever lol

This gave me a couple laughs, thanks! My favorite is when they go out into the rain and, without fail, become violently ill the next day. Rain in Asia seems terrifying. It doesn't happen with snow though, snow falls and everyone is out frolicking in it.

It's fluffy and candy sweet, to the point where i can only binge it in fits and starts.... like eating a lot of sugar and feeling a bit nauseous afterwards, but still feeling the gleeful guilty pleasure. I found having the comments on by other viewers increased its watchability immensely. (I'm watching it on Viki) It's nice to know others are snickering at it with you. ;) Great article! Love the droll tone.

I adored Yanxi palace so much. New respect for Xu Kai after that one too; substance along with all that fire and flash. The acting on all the cast's parts was epic

I agree completely. truly phenomenal, even if the ending was a bit of a disappointment- especially as it wasn't even how it ended historically. But it's a total rewatch for me anyway.
