Loved the research you put in, and the level of perception and empathy for both characters and viewers alike. It’s so much fun to get someone else’s take, especially on a show I’m currently watching. I agree with most of your points on this, it’s a fabulous drama well worth the praise. I had to laugh at the twins part, two of the older male actors in the four you shared still throw me off when they're not in the same room together, at least until they start talking to someone. It hardly ever happens and I thought it was just me. Also, I appreciated that ya’ll went to the trouble of posting links to the manhua. This time frame was also one of my absolute favorites, I was sold the moment I saw Li Shimin in the description. I keep waiting for Zetian to show up as a young girl, but that's probably just me. You both put so much work in, and did a lovely job with this article. Thank you!
Whenever someone crosses the street, especially when they're looking happy, I'm always waiting for that white truck. Even in Cdramas. It doesnt seem to matter. Also, will upcoming https://kisskh.at/61489-destruction have an unlisted main lead??? I wait with bated breath to see. Thanks for the laugh! <33
Yikes, Hopefully it's a good sign that things will pick up bcoz when you're flat there's no where else to go but…
So happy to see some of my favorite actors again, but I'm dreading the theme a little as well... I dislike overly patriotic shows on any platform, simply because it's subliminally so divisive. We need to be getting past the things that cause estrangement between countries and people. The world doesn't need to foment more hate, it has enough already.
Thanks for the compilation! It feels like the casts are just getting younger and younger.... lol I wonder if there are any dramas coming out with seasoned actors too. Or maybe they're saving them for autumn. >.<
Wu Mei Niang? Is it Wu Zetian? Oh so it's a story taking place in the ⏺taizong⏺Wu Zetian⏺Gaozong time I…
I adore this time period too! Totally had me at Taizong. I hope they continue to show Wu Zetian in a sympathetic light but I'm not counting on it after reading the premise... all the troubles she gets into at the palace and all. ^.^

it's a horrible thing to have to think about, isn't it? I've seen so much of this sort of thing. I just kinda wish it didn't make me so conscious of the fact that while people are pointing fingers at her, so many thousands of others slip under the arm of justice by anonymity. We'll just both hope that things work out for the best with the children.

It is all part of the issue though, isn't it? It's not throwing a straw man in if it's part of the reason people are judging her more. I never said it wasn't wrong. Things like this happen every day, and perhaps I'm terribly jaded, but it's says more about society itself that it happens so much more than is publicized. Why was this in one particular? Because it looks really really bad on paper. But when it all boils down, it's her deciding that she's an unfit parent. Should money make a difference? Are we going to judge the surrogates too because they decided money was more important than vetting the parents? How many horrible situations have we seen where there was no love but lots of money? Are we going to move on to all the rich and not so rich parents that put their children into untenable situations now? Do we know what the ex was like? Perhaps he is abusive. Do we know? Did anyone find out? Would it be publicized if he was? This is why I reserve judgement. Too many variables we don't know. To make one person the poster child for this when it's so prevalent seems... well. Typical lol

Perhaps there are, perhaps we don't know the entirety of the situation. I honestly take everything tossed into the court of public opinion with a grain of salt, even recordings or what have you. When I say gender bias, I'm saying that this happens so frequently with men they make t-shirts out of it... ie the left for a pack of cigarettes/milk and never came back. Realistically, how man men are out there with abandoned children? Perhaps it did all happen exactly as it sounds, and I'm not saying it's not bad if it did, but how much of it is focused on how she is a woman and is supposed to be the gentler sex? How many more people are outraged because of that? Hold them all accountable. But as a society we tend not to.
Completely unbiased, i don't know who she is and it doesn't really matter to me. But my 3 predominant thoughts are: 1. This sounds like a melodramatic plot in a drama, and we all know how those can be fabricated upon for reasons no one knows about. 2. This is such a gender biased subject that I just can't. Even if any of this is true, are we forever going to hold women to a higher standard than men? Why is putting a child up for adoption taboo? Do we know all the circumstances? What if he has his own reasons for wanting the children with him that has nothing to do with the way it's being presented? etcetera etcetera ad infinitum. There are so many flags going up on this in my head I could probably write a three page essay. 3. Terrifying when a government decides to end someone's career over societal and personal issues. Can you imagine if all actors and actresses around the world were destroyed for tabloid press?
TMOPB is really hard to compete with for me. I've read the novel twice now, and idk how many times I've revisited the show. Pillow Book surprised me once I got past the fist episode, it became a lot more fun, with a few exceptions. That fish, I still will never stop laughing hysterically over SiMing and that fish XD The Eternal Love was a loooooot cheesier imho, to the point where I would only be able to binge so much of it before I would feel a little nauseous. But the chemistry tho. The chemistry. It was kind of nice to see a ML with a healthy (perhaps obsessive) sex drive too. Much more realistic :P
While it is part of the universe of TMOPB, I think the author is running with the title of "Eternal Love" by which so many dramas are named, whether they're related or not ^.^ but it's a great show, isn't it?
i've read two synopses now, and i'm not sure which atm, but one is very misleading. I think it's Viki's Who is the relationship here, the two guys or ML and FL? XD

The entire cast is phenomenal
