Understand this: I am not attacking the fans of the drama. I understand perfectly that people can love this drama. It has enough markers for that. Some magic and some background music have a strong power (the piano one for example), good acting and love story.

I'm sure that many people would have liked to love this drama too but couldn't do it, because of the mistakes of the script and probably also of the director. Because even if the script contains mistakes, it is the director who has the last word and is in charge of making it better. And most of the comments would not say that it is a mess, that it is boring, etc.

The script fails because of objective problems. This is very easy to demonstrate, just by analyzing the scenes and some of the other concerns. This has been done plenty of times here, and other blog I was going to when I was watching. It's a pity because there was the potential for something exceptional that could not be transmitted. This is a very common flaw in Korean writers when they write Sci-Fi or Fantasy, unfortunately. Even the ones I particularly like, but I can't make any concessions either.

You also confuse the notion of "mystery" and "confusion". Anyone likes to have mysteries in a story. But here we don't have that, we have confusion instead. A mystery allows the audience to become involved in the story and assumes that the understanding of the scene is clear. The audience knows there is a mystery. Confusion, on the other hand, ejects the audience from the story. The audience no longer asks the question of what is going on in the story, but the question of how to decipher the meaning of a scene at a basic level. This generates disastrous cognitive effects.

And we are not in front of a surrealist work, like David Lynch's "Eraserhead", where indeed, it is possible to have nonsense on the screen. No, this is a drama story, so it should be told properly. I don't think that the writers are acting in bad faith, or that they are trying to do something so sophisticated that only a fraction of the audience can get involved. They are aiming at the general public and they had better give it their best shot. But there is a typical problem of the writer which is the deficit between what the writer knows and thinks is obvious, and how they tell it to someone who knows nothing about the story. And it's made worse because on the written version of the script it's easier to understand than on the screen, since only the essential information is included.

Yes it's a mess because the screenwriter made many mistakes I won't recap once more, but one of the bigger one was to makes this uselessly confusing. It's the first time she try to write this kind of complex high-concept fantasy and failed largely, when writers doing that more regularly and successfully already struggle to makes that clear, and miss some points.
Else there is still some nice scenes. It's not everyday we get a white mare in the city. Comedy was also quite good and a lot of aesthetic nice things.

Too bad, it's from episode 10 it becomes a bit more exciting.
It don't mean it's less messy or less confusing. Just there is something moving.

I don't like the OST too. Conventional thing.
"Beautiful life" is unbearable. "Stay with me" makes just a funny "tut tut" at the beginning.
And of course your annoying "love u"... The drama is already deadly boring, and on top we have to endure all those noisy teenager creepy songs.

As foreshadowing, he wears a red sweat. Hee Woo never meet that guy in his past life and suddenly he appears. I guess he's a spy working for the red lady. Could be a guy dead in Hee Woo time and send back in the past too, as a backup for his mission.

Ah! I can't write private information here. But most of the time, I use google trad or another better translation website. I cheat! When watching a drama, subtitles go too fast. I need to make progress in english.

I'm too slow on english and don't feel confortable. I miss the lines and can't understand. When I read a topic, at least I can use an auto-translator if I don't understand, or use one for translate what I write. It's a bit sad as there is some I would like to watch. Well, they look good on the paper. Some Thai drama looks fun too.

Not really that. It's not they don't like, but over the time old dramas notation don't change because newbies only watch new content. I don't care about the rating of the show I like, because as I said first, rating make no sens here, and also I don't need people approbation. Additionnaly, I know that many shows with high rating are bad. I guess you should know that when you watch an overated drama and you are disapointed.

Obviously I made a mistake and should just said korean drama. As I didn't watch a lot of chinese and thai. Not because I don't like it, but it's difficult to get them with subtitles for my language.

But it could be nice to watch some olders dramas, of all times.

It's older dramas. Classics. But newbies rate anything anyhow, and mostly recent dramas. Plus a lot of comments showing they don't know what asian dramas are, and maybe they should just watch western series because what they want in the comments is just that.

Not so important when you know rating mean nothing here.
Two dramas among the ones I enjoyed the most are 6,7 and 7,6.

I hope there is one, because it would fit well the story, and make a difference with the manhwa.

More seriously, I remember one point: the red lady (grim reaper) say to him... he will relive to accomplish the mission of arrest the main vilain. Only... she didn't say what will happens next! So, if I was the writer... I would just make an intense love story with one of the girls around (or the actual version of grim reaper before she die, could be the Vilain daughter), and when the drama end... the hero will die, because the mission is done. Tears! Crying!
The audience will be as moved than at the end of "moon lovers", lol!!

I had reasons to be suspicious because it tooks me one year and half to just make the structure of a whole drama before to write it. I used to like comics but don't have enough time to read them or webtoon anymore. And I prefer not read Again My Life one, because of the spoiler. I have only read some part of Yumi Cell because I wanted to compare with what have done the screenwriter on this one. I think your opinion will have a good effect on the bad feeling I had before. You seem to read a lot of webtoon. I would like to have your opinion.

I feel like it's not interesting to make so many dramas from webtoon. Except the concept and some scenes. It's because a drama needs to be structured from the beginning to the end. But I'm afraid that webtoon are stories written on the fly, a bit like weekly fan-fiction. So it can make for fun stories, but they're pretty shallow.

What do you think? Am I wrong? I don't read enough webtoon to know for sure.
Just a feeling I got after watching some dramas based on webtoon. Even if I enjoyed some. Light rom-com. But difficult to make it deep or to get plot-twists that need to be set-up from the start.

Then, I also think it's a shame that screenwriters are just employed to write the story of a webtoon, when they could write their own stories. Much better structured to be dramas. Maybe with the adaptation of a novel, I'm better ok because some novelists carefully prepare their stories. And they can go deep into the characters and their emotions.

By the way, I've read the first chapter of the webtoon, and the screenwriters made a good job. Instead to start on the roof scene, they introduce first the conflict and use that scene as a cliffhanger. Without giving this context and character exposition, the scene wasn't so powerful, and even the sequel.

The scene with the parents fake death was very well about acting. But of course I understand if you don't like the line "I'm going to be an orphan again", a bit on the nose. But please, blame the screenwriter, not the actor!
