But why?
Damn, was I the first customer?
But how much did I pay exactly? ^^
I like to know why a drama is unappreciated, it's instructive.
I often ask myself questions like: what could be done better? How?

Title It's Okay to Not Be Okay Spoiler
Not sure what HDL is, but Goblin and DotS are both by the same writer, if that helps.
HDL was a good drama, except towards the end, I never managed to finish it, not so good so. Romance has serious problems too. FL is a lot of fun for comedy, but no sane man could love a girl as painful and unbearable to live with on a daily basis. Or you need to be Bouddah reincarned, like the ML. ^^
Otherwise, Goblin... We understand each other... I'm torn between this and TKEM as the worst drama of all time.
Needless to say, "Psycho is okay" is a breath of fresh air next door, if you compare it.

We missed a good makjang topic full of rage and upside down tables. ^^

I never received such a long feedback...I might need to read your comment 2 or 3 times. Thank you for taking time…
I wrote this very quickly without difficulty. I followed this drama closely during the broadcast, I rewatched episodes, reviewed scenes or read the "battle to understand" on a blog and forum. It reached a level beyond the limits of reasonableness, and unfortunately it was futile because it was basically based on speculation. Only a few general lines could be clarified, but not the phenomena in their own right, the drama chose not to show things that were indispensable and would have been interesting, and on the contrary was filled with useless things.

I am all the more disappointed for the time spent on this. Unfortunately, as the French expression " Throw the baby out with the bath water " says, beyond a certain amount of disappointment, one tends to throw out the good things as well. It's regrettable, because I still liked some moments of the drama, which you were able to highlight with your photos. An article in which I detect some important and respectable work.

Note that even good scenes were not exploited with the dramatic intensity that was optimal. Episode 11, for example. It was good, but there were better things to do. The screenwriter is not in the habit of establishing a strong tension and pushing the limit. It's not her style, I have the impression. I saw that on Descendants of the sun. In terms of nervousness, her drama "the heirs" (which most people don't like) was more interesting, there was a good conflict between the two rivals of the drama, often violent and intense. It's not a great drama, but the narration was good. Secret Garden was successful too.

I find a positive point in TKEM: when there was comedy, it was successful. Often situation comedy with good repartee. The opposite of the Goblin drama where the comedy was forced and over-the-top. I was afraid that TKEM would use that, and I was pleasantly surprised.

There are only a very small number of points on which I can agree on this article. Such as: WDH comedy moment, some good music, Maximus, some good pictures from time to time.
However, the cinematography and editing is very uneven. Episode 4 for example. A series of boring slow scenes, rendered flat and fixed. Making one important scene not slacken off from the rest. I had done an audio montage on it, precisely:
https://vimeo.com/418796093
(at that time, it was highlighting things detected in the drama, but since the drama contradicts itself all the time, it just had to be chance).

The cinematography/editing was not able to make the drama understandable, in addition to the fact that the script was unable to properly organize the understanding and chronology. Refer to my review, I won't insist on this point here. Even if the drama had wanted to propose a system of clues, it failed. For that, it is necessary to give regular confirmations and show the phenomena, not to hide them when it is useless.

To me, the best line in the drama is: "Get undressed."
The line "open the doors to the universe" could have been good, but was artificially forced. Too little consistency and evidence to make it happen. No cause and effect. Too bad, but that's the way it is with the whole drama. Everything that could have been good has been ruined this way.

Characters:
- The hero is a block of granite with no weakness.
- The heroine is unbalanced. At first an unlovable woman (it's like dating Inspector Columbo), then becomes more sensitive and lovable. This is good, but not when it is done so abruptly, and she even forgets her Taekwoondo skills after that.
- The PM Koo character is beautifully spoiled, and ultimately useless. It's a pity, the character had potential.
- Shin Jae is totally useless from beginning to end, or almost. A dull and heavy character. Since the drama has twice as many characters as it is sustainable, no wonder.
- Lee Lim is one of the worst antagonists ever written. Just have a look at videos or articles about "how to write a good villain". The opposite has been done here. He rarely comes into confrontation, and very late in the story. He has countless scenes where he does almost nothing (or things with useless secondary characters), and he never presents a serious threat. He is permanently disqualified by the hero. He slowly prepares plans that never have any outcome, tension, suspense, twists and turns.
- The romance was Ok for me, but others will answer here, and I know that the romance could not be accepted for the audience, because it was not properly exposed, and was drowned in the confusion of the drama.

A lot of the references in the drama are useless.
- The reference to "Alice in Wonderland." Heavily and awkwardly pressed (the rabbit costume is ridiculous), and the heroine never experiences this when she is in the kingdom of Korea.
- Euler's number could have been useful, but it was not (I had contributed to the analysis of the number and its formula, which could have had a link with the dimensional travel system). It just turns out that the ML is ridiculous using it to count time, rather than a simple 1, 2, 3 ...
- If the mechanics of time freeze is explained here for duration, the exact conditions of triggering are never explicit, and almost impossible to trace, even by making an excel sheet. And some time freeze or absence of time freeze (especially on the last episodes) have no explanation, just like all the fantastic mechanics of drama.
- Everything ends up falling apart by deus ex machina, a magic flute, a god of destiny. This is of no interest and destroys any science fiction aspect and any credibility. So it's a pure fantasy. Things happen when the writer wants them to happen, no suspense.

I warn that it's one of the worst dramas to date, terribly boring three quarters of the time, rendered uselessly incomprehensible, as unexplained as unexplainable, unreadable even for simple things. Big problems of coherence appear when the story really develops.
With this warning, I think the few people who venture to watch the drama will be less disappointed.

The fact remains that your article is very well presented, with good photos, a poem, BRAVO.

I already feel like I'm wasting time when I'm writing comments, lol! So, it doesn't matter. It's a trick to pass the time, I should rather work on my script or watch The Promise.
And still, I don't abuse it! Some people are swallowed up in it and spend their time writing comments everywhere, here, other social networks. People who frequent forums, blogs and social networks are sometimes addicts. It's true that it's nice when you get a notification or a like, we have to be careful. Now that I mention it, I still haven't got your notifications on The Promise topic.
T T.
Now I'm frustrated. ^^

I stopped watching mid first episode and keep coming back to the comments to see if it got better. It appears…
I anticipated a lot of new viewers would drop the drama, like you. Now that there's no longer an online game to talk about the unsolvable mysteries hidden in the mess of drama, people don't want to endure the confusion and the boring plot.
Dropping the drama halfway through the first episode is premature, because the first episode is pretty clean compared to the rest. But even in the first half, I remember a series of scenes that were already badly rendered.

When the woman sees the corpse, I hadn't recognized the king's double (we see the king too quickly at the beginning, and the head of the corpse isn't similar). Already there, there are difficulties to understand what happens, this scene was an elipse too fast. We have the impression that the murder speaks about the one that Lee Lim has just committed. The police are talking about a car accident. It is impossible to imagine that Lee Lim created alone another murder as complex as this one as soon as he arrived (it looks like a mafia organized crime instead). Then, it is also difficult (if we did not recognize the corpse) to know that the woman is the mother of the boy. It's dark, and when she's home, she does the dishes and then drinks. And it doesn't make sense that she didn't notice her son was missing. Anyway, Lee Lim is hiding in the apartment, sitting in the wheelchair. Like he hasn't left that place since.

All of this may seem clear when you review the episodes, but the first time you ask yourself too many questions, it's too unstable. And it's only the next episode where you have proof of what happened, you see the picture of the boy in the cemetery. And this series of scenes is also unstable. You have to recognize the woman (who has changed age and appearance), recognize the photo of the boy, while there are lots of other boys with the same appearance in the drama. Even for such simple and ultimately easy to understand things, there is already confusion, embarrassment at first viewing.
Not to mention that none of these scenes are exciting, and they are all disconnected from the main character, among many other scenes that are also disconnected.

LOL the comments are already 10k. And no sign of stopping either. But how come so many comments below are deleted?…
There's a second missing person, someone who was supporting the drama. But I don't recall her comments being incorrect.
Maybe there were secondary accounts or something like that?
If so, it would have been nice if the fake reviews were removed, too.

On It's Okay to Not Be Okay Jul 2, 2020
Some people get unnecessarily angry on social networks about trivial issues, such as consent, regarding FL behaviour.
My quick answer as a man:
There's nothing wrong with a woman touching my chest. Especially if I'm attracted to her like the ML in the drama. It's nothing, and it won't bother the men except for a few fragile ones.
On the other hand, if I don't like this woman or if I'm married and she insists and abuses some power to force me for a period of time, she will have problems. Repetition and coercion are the definition of harassment, not the unexpected little nudges.

I am really enjoying this drama and is waiting in anticipation for episode 5 and 6. I just hope that complaints…
I also prefer the authors to remain faithful to their vision, even when I'm not a fan of their work. There's already a lot of preparation work and consistency in the script. I worry that changing all this at the last moment can only lead to a less rich result, losing coherence.

I don't remember there being a time difference between the two worlds. When did we learn that?!We see Lee Gon traveling…
It was more the theory of the shortcut (door to door) and the long way. Wormhole and travel without a wormhole. Something that cannot be answered, like everything else.
If there was a time difference between the worlds, there would be even less chance of double DNA (it's already impossible on a basic level). I just remember a dialogue saying that the worlds were separated a long time ago (they even give from when, but I don't remember). So the time was the same in both worlds then. Maybe you confused this information with the other one?

We'll never know!
That's a good thing.
Just... (Sighs) Well, you see... Just thinking back on it.
That little nothing... It's so painful that it makes me nauseous.
All this futile, sterile talk here and there trying to figure out every little thing. It's never been any use. There's nothing to solve when the writer is purposelessly filibustering without any purpose. You can have fun at that when there is a minimum of coherence or information, not with something lame from beginning to end. 18 hours of tedium.

You can see a drama like Memories of the Alhambra, where nothing ever spoils your fun and understanding. You get to the last episode, which explains some things badly. It's a pity, but at least you'll only get annoyed with it then, and the last scene is beautiful.
You can see a movie like Primer, which is much more complicated than TKEM, but at least you're immersed in the atmosphere, there's nothing useless. The film is not a model of clarity, but when the fantastic principle is explained, it's clear and clean! You have everything you need to torture your brain from a solid base. It's hard SF, directed by an engineer with little cinema experience and a tiny budget, but with a consistency as perfect as a NASA rocket. And a good 1h30 movie will be nice to review and dissect.

I just realized something.1 day in Kingdom of Corea is equal to roughly 3-5 days in Republic of Korea. Which is…
I don't remember there being a time difference between the two worlds.
When did we learn that?!
We see Lee Gon traveling to Republic of Korea by taking the "long way" on horseback through the in-between world. This is supposed to not create a time freeze, but he stays in it longer. That's why there is a time difference (episode 10) and Tae Eul waited a long time.
By the way, why am I talking about this?
Right now, I don't give a damn.
No rules have ever been clear, demonstrated.
And what little has been established has been contradicted, what a mess.
Ahhh, I forgot all that horror so easily.

What happens to the tree then?!Does it too end up with just the trunk?
This story has an ecological side to it. Or even economic.
The notion of wanting everything, right away, to vampirize what exists.
Instead of having the patience to respect natural rhythms.
If the boy had been wise, the tree would have produced fruit for him for the rest of his life.
This is still different from the tale in the drama.
The zombie boy must be fed or he dies.
There is a question of necessity that does not exist in the Giving Tree tale.
Since I don't know this tale, only you can answer that.
