Episode 16. It's beyond anything as a bad scenario. *** NO SPOILER. *** A lot of the things on my stupid list have happened or thereabouts. I'll do a detailed check later. But it's already an all-time record, and I'm (unashamedly) glad I anticipated this kind of lame dumbness. https://kisskh.at/35039-the-king-the-eternal-monarch#comment-3546147
But I still overestimated the screenwriter!!! The last episode of the drama manages to be even worse on a point that I had already detected. I should have been smarter about it and included it in my list. I had already detected that every time a fantasy or science fiction element was developed, it was hidden as much as possible. Make it as invisible as possible so that the viewer couldn't detect the inconsistencies. This was even more obvious in episodes 14 and 15, and I had to think a lot to find the rules and inconsistencies, which accumulate despite a stable first part of drama at this level.
BUT THERE!!! There is no logic, no coherence, anything can be thrown out anyhow. The biggest plot-hole imaginable piles up endlessly. Any scene can be deciphered easily and the logical flaws are as obvious as a white truck of destiny in your face. You can go to the local bistro and talk to an alcoholic who has drunk 3 bottles of vodka, he will tell you a story that makes even more sense than the one in episode 16!!!
If you want to enjoy episode 16, I advise against drugs, because I'm against drugs. But you have no choice but to drink three bottles of vodka. You have to screw up and eradicate your brain at any cost! Maybe then you'll manage to enjoy a few romantic scenes and a maximum of fan service.
I am officially awarding this drama the title of worst drama ever. I banish incompetent screenwriter Kim Eun SooK for life.
I hesitated to say this until now, but run away from this drama!! You have to be a complete masochist to endure this.
Well, let's see...- Goblin's boring, nothing's going on, that's easy to understand.- TKEM's boring, lot of useless…
Like the author of the post, I never managed to finish Goblin, I also fell asleep during the episodes. However, I understand you a little bit, the actress Kim Go Eun is very good, she excels in the teary scenes.
Can someone tell me, is it a good idea to give it a try.. Honestly speaking I did not like Goblin that much (may…
Well, let's see... - Goblin's boring, nothing's going on, that's easy to understand. - TKEM's boring, lot of useless stuff happens, messy and artificial complexity. Aaaaah, in fact, it's Goblin going to the carnival and trying on lots of different disguises!
Nice review. About the rewatch: I can only relate my experience, as I've seen the drama about 20 times. (it's my favorite work, so it's normal, I'm not crazy, lol!). - The twists and turns you already know. It works again, because the direction is good. Even when you know the outcome of a situation, the thrill is still there. - Various scenes of mystery: likewise, it is thanks to the background music that is sublime in this drama. For example the title: Friction Of Collapse Dimension. https://www.nhaccuatui.com/playlist/hai-the-gioi-w-two-worlds-ost-va.KSnHMWHdWarB.html?st=21 (at 1:47 you will recognize the erratic piano that creates this). my favorite piece: Key of Life. https://www.nhaccuatui.com/playlist/hai-the-gioi-w-two-worlds-ost-va.KSnHMWHdWarB.html?st=28 Restores a feeling of distance and wandering. So, to see the drama again is also to better enjoy what's behind it, the soundtrack, the background music. The scenes of the drama are made magical because of that. It's partly because of this that they can be revisited unflaggingly. - Emotions and romance: you were right in your review. The drama is too hectic the first time to fully appreciate this aspect. So the emotions are much better when you see it again. I was surprised by the impact of some scenes that I went through a bit quickly the first time. - Understanding: I think the 2nd part of the drama lacks explanation compared to the 1st part, it helps to better understand (but you have to think about it anyway, it's a pity that the viewer is not helped more). - Density: everything is too fast and too dense in this drama to be able to fully appreciate it all at once anyway. However, only people who sincerely liked it the first time will want to see it again. There are few dramas that you want to see again in general, you have to be hit very hard the first time.
TBH even with all that going on the only reason it feels like too much is cause of how it's written. If the doppelganger…
Your words are worth gold, and now that I have understood the message of KES, I will apply it to a concrete case. My dream will come true. I will soon be able to press the RESET button, escape from her drama, and start a new spectator's life in a different and better drama.
There are certain passages where Lee Gon's own qualities are emphasized. When he thinks about and finds solutions…
You're having some good times but wobbly: - When Lee Gon understands that timestop duration increases according to the formula: prime number squared. But no luck, the formula is badly said and you don't understand anything. And the numbers on the blackboard do not represent the timestop he is talking about. - When Lee Gon in QOK understands that Lee Lim arrived in QOK because of timestop and because Lee Lim had spoken with him on the phone in ROK. But that too is a bit of a misunderstanding. In the scene before, Lee Lim doesn't say anything on the phone (we only see him later in a flashback, the next episode). There are even some spectators who confused the reason, they believed that Lee Gon had deduced that because timestop takes place when both flutes are in the same world (which is wrong). So, even when Lee Gon uses his intelligence and solves something, nothing is clear!
Afterwards, I may have already said it, but you can't really compare Korean dramas and American series. A Korean drama = 1 writer with 1 or 2 assistants. An American series = 1 concept director with 5 or 6 writers.
Remember this funny fact? Einstein "the creator of quantum physics". AH AH AH!!!!!!! But after all, maybe the Einstein of Lee Gon's world does that on top of everything else, huh?
Does anyone else here feel that TE is merely a FOIL for LG? That in essence, the whole cast are just FOILS for…
There are certain passages where Lee Gon's own qualities are emphasized. When he thinks about and finds solutions to fantastic mysteries. But I didn't feel the desired effect. It's a copy-pasted of Kang Chul's character in W, which is convincing in terms of his intelligence. It's even quite excessive.
If the drama had been clearer and more exciting, if Lee Gon had been confronted with more mysterious situations, and if there had been more thoughtful voiceover and his explanations had been clearer, then, perhaps, the cut-and-paste would have been successful. The drama was too scattered all over the place to be able to highlight this.
There was a huge need to clarify all the fantastic subjects, and to experience Lee Gon's questions and answers at the same time. He needed to be seen more in these situations: how does he come into the in-between world? Why doesn't he ask himself when he sees the timestop of episode 14? Why doesn't he wonder when he sees that almost a week has passed when he goes back to QOK? etc...
Instead, we often get hermetic explanations, which at the beginning look phony, the 0 and 1, the number of euler, etc.. No useful precision and clarity in what he says that proves to the viewer that he's really smart, and that he doesn't throw out quick and ready-made solutions.
TBH even with all that going on the only reason it feels like too much is cause of how it's written. If the doppelganger…
The whole part with the doopleganger is useless and is never really exploited, except with Luna, and a bit of comedy with Eun-Sup. It wasn't worth it for so little, and the drama would have been better without it. It took away all the confusing parts about people who look alike and you never recognize each other, in what world, and so on. It also helped to alleviate the drama of boring, laborious police investigations that are never remembered.
Moreover, the existence of dooplegangers is a major inconsistency that hinders the drama from the outset. The two timelines have been separated for too long. One world has even experienced war and separation while the other has not. Two different political systems. This makes it impossible to find any similarity in the natural flow of human encounters, and therefore of births and activities.
I am going to start watching this drama today. I am really sad about all the negative comments even thought the…
My comments often dissect how and why bad the drama is. There's a good chance you'll experience that when you see the drama. But if you like Lee Min Ho, I think despite all the flaws, you won't be disappointed. The actor's performance is slightly better than usual.
Just realized, even if TE and JY dies on the night of the coup. They will still not die, because their past selves…
Logic is respected in this way, as I have already mentioned.
The rule is: "If a person from the future goes to the past and dies, it doesn't affect the life of the other self from the past."
But there are other logical errors that I have reported, and various potential plot-hole errors about the time travel system. I'd have to put together in one fairly long commentary everything I've written all over the place. It's a lot of work, especially since it needs to be explained very clearly. Right now, I don't have the motivation.
When something terribly wrong is done, it has to be said.
Totaly drunk in a garbage can, I feel like that now, after seeing this.
You are far from this, SORRY to contradict you !!!
By far worst of the 16 episodes of ANY random drama.
*** NO SPOILER. ***
