The main storyline is sagging. At this rate, they wont be together in ep 11 so we can break them up.

Nan’s story must be so tragic that he’s numb to the idea that it’s ok to get mad when bozos wreck your car. “This isn’t even worth raising my voice over when you’ve gone through my trauma”. I wonder what it is?

It’s like a series made up of the leftover supporting casts of other series. Good to see Fourwheels and Bhudis. But I’m not sure what the hook is to make this different than En of Love.

One of the things I think is odd about this fan blow up on the series is that Sib gets this big pass. All of the fan comments on the Twittertubegram on the series are aimed at Gene or at Aey. Like it goes without question that Sib is too precious to touch. i think I'd join the #FreeSib hastag group if I were into Tweeting. Sib with no one at all! I guess its typical IRL: They always attack the girlfriend for breaking up their ship. No one goes "Thank God Ohm Pawat is Free and Single!" or "Now Tay Tawan can focus on his studies without the distraction of having to drag Newie around town like a sack of potatoes that he is."

I don't know. I hate fanservice, but I've not figured out how many die hard couple shippers there actually are in fandom. Everyone I talk to about it finds it stupid. But humans are actually quite stupid, so while it seems like an odd obsession, its not really that unusual. I don't know if you can create a shippable couple without it. If I were a manager of a BL actor or a showrunner I'd probably make an attempt to do it just because my show would get more viewers or may client would become more valuable if it worked. It doesn't actually work that often. But not trying is...well Off and Gun are a lot more valuable as a team than either is on their own. No one is tuning in to Off Jumpol Fun Night. Or Paying Gun to sponsor their sugar drink. They will pay a premium for both, though.

I was hoping that COVID meant the end of the Fan Service to PowerShip pipeline. Just treat them like you would straight stars in a straight rom com who don't have to pretend to be secret lovers. But I see GMM is back at it with EarthMix. I don't think its going to work. But since TayNew is over and KristSingto is winding down and even Chimon has a girlfriend now, I guess GMM thinks there's an opening for bankable male team.

They can't legally force him to follow norms outside his contract and probably wouldn't be willing to go to court for a case that they would lose and that would generate a lot of negative publicity for them. That said, they could just lawyer up and make Sib do the same, which is going to cost money. Instead they'll do what Motive Village did to Godt when he was being stickly about getting paid extra to do fan service events...just run to twitter and say that Sib isn't getting onstage to make kissy face with Aoey because he's a homophobe and let the twittershere drag it out for them. Or like MV did with Earth, issue a press release saying that they are firing him because he's not a good actor. Or just blackball him from working elsewhere. Sib as a character might not care because they've written him the way that they have. In this story, we have to believe that the Producer really does have clout in the industry that can ruin everyone and prevent them from working in the industry again, like the director told Gene early on. Otherwise, there'd be nothing to get excited about.

Coutnerpoint: Gene could do better as well. Both of them made promises to their fathers to be responsible and the first thing they do is lose their jobs? Because "Love". They told their fathers that being together wouldn't interfere with anything. Bua wasn't kidding that Gene's reputation with the Publishing House has been damaged. Should he just quit and start publishing fan fic on Wattpad for no money? That goal of being a writer and making money from it indepently from his family's wealth is a very important part of his identity. Just chucking that away when Sib just has to tone it down and let his contract expire and not renew it in 4 months. isn't too much to ask.

Ep 11 unfolded as I expected. Gosh, I’d be frustrated working with these people. I think it was the producer who finally said “let me get straight to the point” I was thinking “Finally! Although I hate her, I could work with her”. Sheesh. Yeah, this lack of candor around unpleasant suggestions preserves the appearance of harmony, but egads it drives me nutty. “Out with it! Get to the point”. How Gene got anything out of those convos with Bua and Hin is beyond me.

Gene, dear, it’s probably too little to late to take an interest in Hin.

Yeah, love...but seriously Tum? Running back to Tiffy was a big mistake. Doesn’t he have other friends with shoulders to cry on? She dumped him way too easily.

I’m probably one of the few people who doesn’t hate Aoey. Yeah, he shouldn’t have done a live feed without checking with Tiffy. But I don’t think he was malicious. He was upset about the comments about Gene by his stans as well as his own haterz.

I think the choice to make Sib super rich is probably why the breakup felt a little flat to me. Since he doesn’t want to be an actor, doesn’t need to work, just let the contract expire and move on. I’m more on Gene’s side, though not 100%. Sib may not care if he’s an actor. But Gene actually wants to be a successful writer. Sib can buy his way out of his own contract. He can’t help if Gene and Hin lose their jobs.

Yeah. Like the scene in episode 12 where Prab confessed and asked Chol to be a boyfriend....You know that part in that episode where Tri asks Prab if he's dating Chol and Chol says "Yes" and we were wondering when that happened or if that happened? Well it happened and they decided that it was too much for us to see, and cut it from the version that was on Line. I guess they felt it wasn't a crucial plot point. Just filler.

I think its going to go just fine. They've been setting up this point since we were introduced to Tam and the Producer and told how they can ruin people. And of course they both cluelessly pledged to their fathers that they were capable of being responsible adults...which they aren't. I just don't want them to introduce some new character trait and make the break up too shallow. Like in another series that I won't name where they needed to break up to entrap the villain into confessing a heinous crime because simply telling him about the crime would have been too simple. Or that other one that I won't mention because people like it, where a Corny character just decides that it would be better for his lover to go back to his ex girlfriend, even though he knew she was cheating on him and had hired thugs to beat them both up. Or that one that just aired where they broke up because "He doesn't love me any more because he has to work long hours at work for a month. If he loved me, he'd just fuck off at work and get fired." I think they'll have better reasons to break up in ep 11 than in most series.

I get where the OP is coming from, though. A lot of the cursed ep. 11 breakups in Thai BL have been rather lame. The "I saw him standing next to a girl, a nd assumed he was cheating on me and so I'm going to run away for two episodes and not tell him why I'm mad" thing is kind of lame and over-used. I don't think that's the case in this series and it might not happen at all. But yeah, it'd seem a bit off if they've pledged to stand together to face the parents and then just crumble at the first time of hardship at work. "OMG. I got a negative comment on my Instagramotwitttokatube feed! Did you see what they said about Bad Engineer on MDL? I can't date Gene now! My life is over! Let's break up until every rando on the net loves me again."

Yep. And Sib has been especially negligent about flouting the rules. We may not agree with the rules, but the rules were pretty clear about them keeping their relationship a secret. But here he goes telling some rando hawker stall owner that Gene is his boyfriend. And there they go cavorting on the beach. The rules may be unfair and ridiculous, but it’s not like they weren’t warned.

I’m going to guess that if they applied the right amount of sunscreen, the product’s claim that it isn’t oily would be revealed to be a lie. Lol.

If I'm Gene, I'm going in the water anyway. Its not like the ocean is going to be used up if I go in more than once.

Channel 3 is more than happy that you blame GMMTV for its programs.

Tiffy always had rather dumb reasons for thinking Tum was gay. And it was always kind of a power trip on her part to reassign his sexuality for him despite his statements to the contrary. But since she had dumb reasons to disbelieve him, dumb reasons to start believing him aren’t that unbelievable either.

Since I like this series, I’ll charitably believe that by rapping she was magically induced to actually pay attention to what he had to say. Or just go with the fact that Ken is a rapper in real life and whoever signed him up for the role put it in his contract that he be allowed to showcase his talent. I’m not exactly sure why these two even had a storyline, tbh. I’m glad it was resolved through rapping rather swiftly, even if implausibly so I don’t have to worry about them going forward,.

Tam is Tum’s sister. She is the head of the management agency Tum works for. She hasn’t appeared in person yet, but she is nasty to Tum.

Yeah, I think its going to end well. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't put everything at risk one more time. Otherwise, it'd just be a boring snuggle tickle fest on the beach for the next 2 1/2 hours. Peril! I want Peril. Cause the 25 minutes of snuggle tickle fest were really boring this episode. LOL.

I like Hin, too. I missed him for the past 6 episodes. He needs a boyfriend - someone to buy him clothes that fit and tell him to stop wearing that hat. I guess overalls are back, but sheesh, I don't like them nor do I think they look good on anyone who isn't working on a choo choo train.

One of Gene's "fatal" flaws has been his treatment of Hin. He tolerates him, but doesn't really care about him. People commented on that from the beginning - that they didn't like Gene because of that. Gene cares a lot about what his peers think about him, but he doesn't consider Hin a peer. Unfortunately, his lack of caring means he's told Hin to release a novel that is probably a thinly veiled "tell all" and is on a similar topic to his own novel. And the overall goal of this story is to have Gene write a successful BL novel that he can be proud of. Oops.

I think we probably should pay attention to the advice Gene gives Hin on how to deal with rando internet comments, because he's about to be getting a lot of negative feedback about this relationship that he's in. And it looks like a lot of people Sib and Gene should have cared about are going to hurt. Now that Sib has "won" Gene, he no longer cares about the commitments he made to "Bad Engineer" (he won't even watch the show). Gene assured his father that society had changed and there wouldn't be problems and Sib assured his father that he could handle the consequences and would prove it to him by buying land for him. That's all good and well, I suppose, but the next episodes are going to put those assertions to the test a little bit. Those rando internet comments are kind of the stand in for "society" that Gene and especially Sib felt they could just blow off and thought they could handle easily.

Yeah. I think Gene's advice to Hin is probably going to come back to bite him, since the last time we had a glimpse of Hin's novel, it was actually about Gene and Sib. Gene might want to look at what others are writing about him. His assertion that it should be easy for Hin to get published because he's an insider is also a bit tone deaf, but then he's unaware that Hin has been trying for the entire series to get Bua to read his novel. That said, there was a discussion at the Cafe about spin-off characters which was probably a lampshade that if there is a LW Season 2, it would probably be focused on a side character like Hin.
