Yep. For a guy who has been running some kind of big deception for two months, Sib certainly doesn't seem worried that Gene will bump into his mom, even though the mom's are best friends and live next door to each other.

Ugh. They haven't done anything bad, yet, but I really don't get Gene and Nubsib's families. So Gene's dad is this traditional Thai patriarch who wants all of his children to live under his roof so that he can still be chief rooster into middle age, but doesn't take enough interest in his kids to know that Gene's novel was actually successful and being made into a TV series. Huh? Gene's mom is aware and hip to the trends, but didn't bother to tell his dad? And Nubsib's mom doesn't know that her actor son has a lead role in a series? Do cell phones not work in Thailand? And the two families are close and never compared notes? Egads, everyone in that richie rich world is so self-centered and kind of shallow.

The fact that we're going out of ep 6 and into 7 without knowing Subsib's side of the story is just a contrived cliffhanger. I hate it, but it is what it is. Pisses me off that Sib just suddenly can't figure out to get out his "reason". Same with cutting away from the table when Mhok gave Gene his warning. Just meant to keep us in the dark.

Yeah, I'm wondering if Hin fell down a hole and we'll never see him again. He must be busy working on his novel that he's shirking his work duties.

The fact that Tae trusts Nite II enough to tell him who Bhu is without worrying that Nite will go off on a jealous snit, and can tell him about Nite I without Nite II backing away and calling a psychologist is a pretty good sign that these two belong together. So I'm happy with the ending.

Plus its been a long time since I've watched a show where the couple at the end wasn't predictable by episode 1. Even though that was probably the result of COVID interruptions, it made the show unique. I'll definitely remember this show for its nice opening song and for having the final boyfriend be some rando hookup in a bar.

Yep. For the fans in Asia, it runs very late at night. For those of in Europe, it runs during work hours. For those of us in the Americas, it runs right smack in the middle or the work and school days. So I guess this works out best for BL fans in Europe who are students, since it starts about the time schools let out for the day.

They want Thai fans to sign up for AISPlay. They want Interfans to not steal it and post it elsewhere. So they run it in the middle of the night when Thai fans will be sleeping and hope that we're all free for 15 weeks for 2 hours on Tuesdays.

*So the director must have attended Thai BL Director University. We’re referencing pee and sitting on a toilet in segment 1. I know I should be used to it by now. At least no sound effects this time.
*Paper and Sky are cute enough. Can’t blame Sky for thinking Paper thinks of him as more than a friend, because he’s making those eyes. Sky’s dad is dead. Paper is abandoned and living alone (are his parents dead, too?) so at least 3/4th of the parental antagonists aren’t going to be standing in the way.
*So is Jena also the character named Geneva? Is Near his younger brother? Anyway, Arthur is bad new. He is abusive to his ex and blames him for his own mistakes in life. So Jena, my advice to you is to go to Uni, get your degree and forget this loser. Find a nice, studious boy like yoursel. A boy who is, idk, into accounting or something. A solid guy with a name like Bob, or Brad, or Ohm. Feeds the stray dogs at the temple and is kind to old people and children. Forget this loser.

I'm going to be a bit more charitable to the series in this post. I think Xing Si is caught between wanting to remain closeted to his family (even though, I bet even the father knows) by being distant from them and wanting to still be a part of the family. I think he's sincere when he wants to connect with Yong Jie as a brother, but not involve him in his actual life. We see this in this episode where he meets a gay friend at the gym and throws off his promise right away to take Yong Jie home (how rude was that!) and skedaddles away rather abruptly. I don't think he knows how to turn down Yong Jie without coming out of the closet, which is why he's ignoring what should be obvious to him. We've got home life, we've got sexual life, and ne'er the two shall meet up, even mentally.

I really wish that the series hadn't gone in for the rape, because that's what we'll end up talking about. Not this contrast between the way the Fujoshi in the office see the closet as a romantic obstacle where gay men have other consequences and reasons for staying in the closet and being separated from full participation in family lives. But they couldn't leave well enough alone, so now all we're going to be talking about is rape (important topic), step brother incest (not important!) and how sexual harassment in the office isn't really all that funny no matter how many gags they add in.

Ummm. Why just this week in my own country we discovered, thanks to the Minnesota Supreme Court, that 24 states still have an intoxication exemption on their books that need to be rewritten. Looking at Taiwan, the last article I found (2011) indicates that it uses a "use of force" standard for rape, so issues like consent have to be demonstrated by signs of physical force (if there are no witnesses). Anyway, rape laws in general suck. This series could of course call that out and be a bit more challenging to the audience (and there are some rich veins to be mined in this very odd family situation), but I think it intends to be "isn't it funny the way people sexually harass and even rape each other on the way to finding true love" BL that's been done before and is way out of sync with the times. Its not that the series isn't "woke". It just isn't very humane to its characters hoping that we'll be indifferent to them, too, to get a few laughs.

While I can't agree for rooting for the step-brothers, I can agree with you on Muren's robe and slippers. I thought "Bette Davis wore it better."
