His revenge is done with cold reasoning. It's slow and methodical. Yes he makes mistakes but in the end he lives. He can't trust anybody around himself. He has to be very, very careful.

Also want to add the chamber they go into the walls are lined with same substance (glowing green in spots) as the seal. This causes the effect and hallucinations. ♥
