no, I think there are things that don't make sense that i do disregard to enjoy the show, but I just dont think this is one of them. i mean, we can agree to disagree. I think what someone else said above about her appearance is probably more unfathomable to me then her knowing a bunch of different skills. like, she was shown with terrible facial skin issues at one point in her life and now she's beautiful and pretty. that I find highly improbable given medicine and skincare back then, not that she'd even have money to spend on such things. again, we can agree to disagree on what we think is believable or not. at the end of the day, we both have to suspend some belief in parts of the show to enjoy it.

I've been reading everyone else's spoilers but like... can cousins REALLY look that alike?! lol I guess this is the plot point that will have me suspend belief to continue to enjoy it. 😅

for your first point, I saw it quite reasonable because I dont think she was always a night soil collector. the way they told her background and how she speaks of it is that she's gone through toooooons of jobs. it just so happened that her latest gig was being a night soil collector so that's how they all refer to her, but they've shown that she's done countless jobs as she grew up. i'm assuming and could be wrong, but by doing all those different jobs she's learned and heard from multiple different people in life and has learned from each of them little by little and that has now helped her survive. as for why she didn't have a better job, who would've given it to her? a young unkempt female that has no power, background and a sick mother to care for. she probably wouldve been turned into a courtesan if anything and maybe that was the one thing she'd rather not do. I doubt she was trying to find a high paying job or even had time to think about it. she struggled up until the Aunt found her for killing a man that wanted to SA her. so.. yeah. when you're born in poverty, I dont think it's that easy to climb the ladder especially when she still cared for her mother and siblings (and probably paid for most of their expenses and her father's gambling). maybe had she abandoned them, she could have had a chance.

if anything, I think they might follow the manhwa instead where it looks like they're trying to imply that something may have happened or maybe Yok stopped it in time before the 🍇happens - since the manhwa goes from Ing passing out to waking up to Yok beating the ish out of Itt. not sure if the novel explicitly detailed the 🍇 but it was more implicit in the manhwa.

This might turn out to be the BL best adaptation to date 🫣 i just finished the manhwa and they're doing such a great job keeping the key points and scenes. also loving Bank and Copter! both are doing great but Bank is killing it! first time seeing him but his acting and facial expressions!!! loving it! I have to admit, tailai entertainment has some of the best actors that do BLs. also OMG its 20 episodes?! lol we're in for a looooooong painful ride having to wait week by week. 😭 at least its 2 episodes a week 🥺

in that aspect, I feel like he stood his ground fairly well in the manhwa. like after he found out he betrayed him, he was quite cold and mayyyybe got soft at times but in front of Li Yu, he was pretty stone faced and never took him back until the verryyyy end when things got baaaad. and ah. are you reading a good translated version? was trying to see where I can read the novel, but decided to read the manhwa instead. haha

I just finished the manhwa and well, if it's gonna follow that, we're in for a good ride 🤣 also, Ing in the manhwa is so forgiving. like bro is surrounded by black flags and he's still pretty upstanding. arrogant, but kind hearted is how he comes off to me lol

I'm binging the last 3 episodes and I just gotta say that Pi O's mother is so remorseless. Had she just listened to Pi O and at least went to Jeong Yo to apologize and own up to it, I feel like it wouldn't have gotten that far (spoiled by IG reels lol). Jeong Yo was upset and sought revenge, yes. But he was hurt more that he really thought it was Pi O, the person he always treasured. If she had just owned up to it and explained that she didn't mean for it to happen and sincerely apologized and tried to make up for it, it would (in my opinion) have worked out. Jeong Yo was hurt - physically and emotionally, but he wouldnt have wanted to hurt Pi O if he had no part in it. And I cant believe she threatened her son with her own life, what kind of mother does that?! Like, you say you love him, but you can't admit to your own wrongdoings? I feel bad for both Pi O and Jeong Yo but I guess we empathize with Pi O a bit more because he's shown to be the mentally weaker individual while Jeong Yo is out seeking blood.

and, while Jae In is now more relevant to the plot, I'm glad they broke up because it was obvious he didn't like her the way she liked him. He just treasured her as a friend that always stood by him and understood him, but it never felt like anything more.

Also, for everyone that was trying to argue against all the BL elements and that it was strictly passionate loyal friendship, seems like the writer came out to say that it was originally a BL story. lol like I'm ALLLLLLL for a good bromance a la Goblin or Bloodhound bros, but FHTS clearly had very BL-esque scenes. The yearning, care, devotion both had to each other was kind of beyond a bromance. Not to mention that neither cared for anyone else in their lives that way besides each other. If they were not trying to push the boundaries between bromance and BL, I feel like the directing of certain scenes or the mood portrayals could've been handled differently.

Lastly, regardless of how it's tagged or marketed, I'm enjoying the story and acting. Everyone is doing a great job. The story is compelling and the emotions are heartfelt. The mom and teacher feel like theyre in some type of toxic dependent mental relationship LOL

The difference between He Yao and A Lie is that He Yao comes off harmless. Yes, he abandoned them and stole their car, but he made it seem like he did it out of desperation. And his words are not sharp like A Lie, he says things in a roundabout sugar coated way. You can tell that he knows how to blend in with the masses like Grandma and Sister Chen. A Lie, on the other hand, is sharp tongued and very upfront with his words. He doesn't care how he's perceived and acts on what he thinks is best (in this case, best for him and Lin Zai lol, not everyone else). So, he comes off much more cold. Do I think Lin Zai is silly for trusting He Yao? Yeah, kind of especially knowing that he's not as truthful as he may seem to be. But, I also understand why. He found his brother and we know how much Lin Zai loves his family whether that's found family or blood family. So, for him to forgo He Yao's previous transgression so he can cure his brother is not at all far fetched. And they showed us clearly why he's not telling A Lie because if it was only He Yao telling him to keep it a secret but he doesn't think A Lie would mind, he would tell him. But throughout the show, A Lie has been shown to ruthlessly take out zombies and has the sentiment that once they're zombies, they are no longer human or can return to being human.

It does hurt that A Lie is feeling pushed out again. The scene of him looking in while the other 4 socialize really pulled on the heartstrings. A Lie is cold-hearted, he was just raised/trained to be different and has a different mindset, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want or need the comfort and warmth of others around him. 6 more episodes which is roughly 3 hours left of content. Can't wait to see how they tie up all the loose ends with He Yao, his step brother and A Lie and his mission.
