im somehow sad that they cut some novel supporting characters but i understand that there will be some changes... im enjoying this so far. love the flash back at the start of each epsiodes and just wishing there's one at the end too.. but why is it 35mins only istead of usual 40mins or more ðŸ˜

It’s likely a month or more after the battle where his father died. In the novel, the ML and FL were classmates in their teens. The ML was already skilled in martial arts due to his general background, while the FL was just starting out and mostly self-taught. Some flashback scenes show early encounters between them, and the ML was actually the first to give her proper training.
The FL improved through army experience, and though her skills stayed sharp, her strength and stamina declined after the accident. They’re probably the same age or close, but the FL looks younger - maybe because she’s short and female. Even now, despite both being generals, the ML remains more skilled due to his early start.
The way Tada is so cringey and cheesy romantic — and I love it. Hahaha!
Except for Tada’s wound makeup and Wenai’s superhuman antics, I have no complaints.
I’m looking back at my 2025 BL list, and so far, this one’s in the top 3 (ThamePo, Our Youth)… and it’s quickly climbing into my all-time top 10 favorites.
Kudos to Pond, Peter, Boom, Janine, and Alex for carrying the drama beautifully.

Same thoughts - but since he seems to lack proper education, he probably thought finding the kid's parents would be difficult. Maybe he got scared and selfish at the same time. Having a kid or companion might have felt comforting at first, but as the child grew up — smart and all - he likely began to see his own inadequacies. That might be what finally gave him the courage to report it.

I know MDL ratings can’t always be trusted, but damn - Bai Lu has been nailing all her dramas year after year. Girl really knows how to choose her projects well.

I don't know if it is me, or the actor or the director, but I feel like there's a 1 or 2 sec delay in reaction that makes some scenes look stiff and awkward.

My friend and I had a discussion regarding Armin's "overacting" reaction in the earlier episodes, and I said he is not overacting; he is overwhelmed. Given the fact that he is unbelievably reborn, the reality that he got betrayed by the person he loved and trusted, and then died, that kind of trauma makes his reaction so valid.
