Unpopular opinion: I didn’t feel bad when they received the decree; on the contrary, I laughed but it hurt in episode 26 where Lanxiang is crying alone near the wall at night, but my tears stopped when I saw Han crying (I laughed because in the end he lost) but then I cried again because Lanxiang just wanted to live a free but good 🤷🏾 life.
I see a lot of people talking about the fact that Lanxiang will have a broken life and will somehow be imprisoned by Lin JingQi and his royal decree (although the episode hasn’t been released just yet) and I wanted to say that I absolutely agree. If the drama was from another point of view or if JingQi wasn’t the male lead, we would already have insulted him and not romanticized his action. But I could never hate or reduce my love for this drama, strangely I agree that what he is going to do will be wrong, but this drama is just so good that I can’t hate it or lower the final grade I’ll give him. We can still love this drama but also question it. And maybe he even does it to protect her from all dangers and he is also afraid of losing what he wants, especially since these partners are often chosen by his parents and that he does not approve. I’m totally on Lanxiang’s side, my poor baby. (Well, we’ll have more context once the episodes are released)
I’m really obsessed with this drama, it even frustrates me to wait for each episode. At first I watched out of curiosity and now I’m stuck with this drama, I had no idea it was going so well. I even think he will be third, preceded by Love Like the galaxy & The story of minglan, to say how much I find this drama fantastic. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been very depressed lately but I love this drama!!!!!
I really liked watching the drama, especially for its aesthetic and to guess ahead of time who the murderer was. For the romance between Xiaoan and Taozi, I could have done without it, not necessary, especially since I don’t like XiaoAn, he doesn’t deserve Taozi my baby. The ending caught me by surprise, but it’s good. The couple of the inspector and Wenli are handsome without too much fuss. The crimes were often horrible and often the motivations for crime were quite childish, but I understood that we were in something a bit light, and the fact that almost all female characters kill out of love or the suspects are in love sucked. In any case, I had a good time. I would have liked more of Miss Su’s daily life among her family: SONG, Tan, Taozi, Suhyun, and Uncle Xiang.
Too bad, there were a lot of things that weren’t going well. The good things are music, fight choreography (without exaggeration), Gamin and Sehyon friendship and above all LEE JI U!!! The rest, not much.
In episode 7, I was crying and you have Jihoon turning around dressed as grandma, it’s really to kill me!!! I think it’s the first time I’ve laughed and cried at the same time.

6 episodes are not enough! I repeat, 6 episodes are not enough; did they have a limited budget to only make 6 episodes or is it some kind of introduction to attract the audience? These 6 episodes make the development of the characters mediocre, especially that of Hijikata. As a main lead, he annoyed me; I think I can’t stand impulsive main leads anymore and still have "main character." The only one I thought was interesting but with a few reactions that I found cringe is Serizawa, it’s also because of Ayano Go’s charisma, but his character has something that really shows his aura. And I think that his fight against Soji was the most interesting of the whole series although I liked Yamanami’s techniques. On the other hand, I am angry with the character of Nobuyuki Suzuki, who is supposed to be the leader. What kind of leader lets himself be guided, scolded, and relegated almost to second place by someone who is supposed to be his inferior (I’m talking about Hijikata) because throughout, apart from his build and his rigid face, he hasn’t done anything "real" who deserves to be a leader capable of speaking, yes he is strong with the sword but his technique is not impressive and he does not stand out by his intelligence. Still, some of the characters' arcs are fast; we don’t have time to dwell on them, and that’s a shame. Too bad the cinematography and choreography had everything to please, but I felt that the story was redundant and turned on the spot. That’s a shame.
They should have stopped this drama after the wedding or revealed his father directly after the wedding, all that stuff they stretched to fill their quota of 40 eps was too much. Personally I like the end, not only because I couldn’t take it anymore but because it concludes what he was and what he did, he will now be able to rest. I also continued the series because of Yu'er, I love her too much my baby. After the wedding, I wanted to continue seeing how she would adapt and I’m not disappointed. Anyway, it was a very good drama, too bad I had to give him a 7.5 because of the last episodes.
The main character is already getting on my nerves, I don’t know if it’s because I’m at the top of the era LiChengxYimei, but I’m tired of his insistent "savior complex."
Well before watching the drama, on XiaoHongShu, I had already seen the couple LiCheng and Yimei but seeing them in the episodes while understanding the context, I am even more a fan of the couple. Even if we can consider that Yimei has Stockholm syndrome 😅.
I like the fact that romance isn’t one of the central elements of drama, but their chemistry is natural; you can feel that over time they attract each other
