If you’re looking for a straight sugar unproblematic drama this one is for you. When I say straight sugar honey this is it. And the character growth. Especially the ML lead. The relationship of the main lead couple is the epitome standing by one another and giving no breathing room for those trying to slide in. I’m talking blocker them like a running back on the football field. Hit ‘em with the stiff arm of NO I got somebody!!!

Don’t take long for a snake to bear its fangs.. Ah this Hae-suwanna be is working my nerves. Ever since she showed up and now I’m certain. Standing 10 toes down on my initial impression. Get gone chica. Get gone!!!!! And that Do-Shik. Sir. Now we know sir. We see you. Ummm hmm. We see you will all our eyes sir clearly. We see you!!!!!
I messed up by watching Hidden Love first.… This had its charm but… There are just some things that completely unnerved me but I’ll leave that alone. CZY is my heart tho so I’m gonna stick besides him on this one.

Yes!!! Very much so. I just love how well they did this without it being weird and creepy. It's easy to miss the subtleties but I believe the subtleties is what makes this drama worth it because they show the progression in his emotions, thoughts and feelings towards her and we are given a very authentic show of emotions from the FL as well. The love they have for each other developed very differently and that's what I love about it because there wasn't this weird creepy vibe from him concerning her.
On her part, she responded like a normal teenage girl to her brother's cute friend. Instant puppy love. I mean who wouldn't be mesmerized by Mr. CZY on sight.. And then after encountering him again at 17 as an older teenage girl, his kindness towards her, his protecting her even though when she was being bullied, all of her brother's friends stepped up for her but it was special with him. Her crush was normal. She never put him in an awkward position with her crush. And the heartbreak she suffered was familiar. She grows and matures in her crush. It went from school girl thing to her evolving into someone who wanted to give to him as much as he gave out. She wanted to be someone for him to lean on which is what he needed. She became the woman he needed and not just some goofy chick floating around him because he's fine.
When she was a precocious teenage girl running game on her big brother he saw her as such and nothing more. He genuinely became like a brother to her so when he saw her 3 years later when she was 17, his gaze towards her remained the same. He didn't see her and was like oh look at how you've grown in a freak-a-zoid kind of way. He was always respectful and genuinely loving like a brother. However when she became an adult, and they started spending time with each other, he began to see her differently because of her consideration towards him. His life was so tragic. There were few people who truly cared about him other than her and her family. We see the conflict on his face when he's asking himself what are you doing?
To me those small things are what make the love story so beautiful because it was never inappropriate. And then his asking her permission to pursue her, his pulling back when he realized she was uncomfortable and then asking permission - these show his level of respect and even understanding and consideration of her mindset. And while he's older he even considered his own inexperience with relationships. He didn't want to make assumption and rush in doing stuff. He actually asked for help and considered things seriously.
Those things can be missed sometimes when we have our own ideas or biases about certain things. I believe they got this right on so many levels and the main leads gave us what was needed here.

Love love love everything about your portrayal. Not to mention you are SUPERMAN fine. Got me wanting to call you Clark Kent because sir!!!!
The way this man CZY expressed the depth, growth and maturity of the ML. How he conveyed the change in how he saw the FL. It’s all in his eyes and that boyish mischievous smile. Good goodness that mischievous smile and his pretty mouth. I’ve seen her in a lot of drama with amazing male leads but um Mr CZY was giving in this!!! Giving I say!!! Geesh. I’m just talking about the way he looks at her let’s not even get into how he protects her and respects her. My heart. Child my heart!!!
I thought I met my falling in love and simping quota on the Kdramas. Then ML of this drama happened. After holding out I finally watched Once Upon A Small Town. His skin, his dimples, his smile, his eyes. Just him. Goodness. The SML is adorable. I enjoyed this thoroughly. Quick cute and uncomplicated
Listen here my fairytale love story has made me believe in Prince Charmings because I have one but I tell you what these Kdrama men and the bar they set continues to just defy logic. Like they are perfection on top of perfection on top of perfection. Kdramas would have ruined me if I found them while single. My expectation level would be toooooo crazy as I would want every man to meet their stand not missing one thing. Not a one!!
I think the writers of these characters do this on purpose. Like they got to be sitting around like Dr Frankenstein saying this ML needs to be
Rich, fine, protective, more goofy about sending text messages and waiting on replies. Make him cuddly clingy, and cutesy while maintaining that straight boss take no prisoners play no games attitude. Give him a bit of a troubled back story but make him devoted and affectionate deep down. He must be loyal having only eyes for his love even tho he denies it his eyes will say it all. Make him so unbelievably believable so they will keep coming back and stay single forever giving all their devotion to our creations. It’s a conspiracy 🤣🤣

What got me over his villain vibes from Itaewon class were his appearances on the Variety Show “I live alone”…
I’ll definitely have to check that out because I think he’s so adorable. It’s his smile it’s so sincere and warm. Even in Itaewon Class my heart melted for him because his character was a jerk because of the dad. His charm was off the charts.

I had no plans to watch this now I’m 3 episodes in crying like a baby and wondering why can’t there be more out like this right now. The story line scratch that the story telling is phenomenal. Our male lead is fine as always. I seriously thought I would hate his face forever after Itaewon Class but I fell in love with him in Yumis Cells. And I’m loving this FL. I promise this cast is GIVING!! This drama did not come to play. My heart is in pieces right now in such a good way. Wow!!!! Bravo 👏🏾 Bravissimo
I don't like boxing at all and I struggle with blood and such but there was something about this drama that kept me locked in. It was so good and anytime Woo Do Hwan is there. I'm there. I enjoyed the whole cast really. I want more of this drama. It ended way tooooooo soon.
