I was convinced they were two different people and dad was the FINEST of the two. Chen Yi got talent okay because it was the subtle shift in his tone as the dad, it was the that low gruff of his voice and then the white hair with the curls. I was done for. As I was watching I was thinking to myself now this is the same man but why does he look so tantalizing as the dad. Like why am I ten toes down, edge of my seat, eyes glued to the TV watching dad!! Chen Yi is a genius actor because at the end of the day I was in love with Tang Zhou, the Emperor and dad. Like how? I enjoyed this one I really did the heart break and all. I rarely like these but this and Ancient Love Poetry are by far my favs. I will be watching this again just to see the white hair make an appearance. Lol.
I was invested in this. Excited even. I pretty much fell in love with Artist Shin Dae Ryuk and wanted the whole story to shift and focus on him because everything else became quite bland. The guy playing him is adorable.

What I love about this drama and have found unique even though there's so much pain involved with the forbidden love thing in the Heavenly Realm - is the purity of their relationship and the strong bond of affection that they have that's doing it for me. And the actors make it so tangible. I mean their love runs into thousands of years.
The way they both tried to cover and protect each other. Then her being so angry and not listening to hear him beyond the stone face he had to put on and jumping off that bridge and him following behind her to save her and send her off so she could live free and be safe. Then her her trying to cross that river for close to 900 years but her love and memories were too strong to let go so he had to come after coming out of a coma, at half strength, punished himself more for what he was about to do just to go and help her crossover. Lord have mercy. And then him turning himself in to be punished for jumping off the bridge to go after her and him willing taking the punishment of love because of his righteousness and him not wanting her to suffer the pain of their separation alone. What kind of love?
And then when that demon fairy Ying Deng tried to convince the leader to remove all memories of her and he attempted that but his love for her said no and he SNATCHED his memories of her back and sealed them in his immortal spirit. That's Love.
And now watching them done fell in love with each other all over again completely unaware of the GREAT LOVE they share but that LOVE caused them to find each other again. Listen who ever said this ain't it is missing the point of the LOVE story. That's a deep kind of love. And the fact that it shows them bickering and going at it with each other again like they did at first shows how love when it's meant to be will be. I mean goodness it's adorable.
And her friend Yu Mo. The way my heart is bubbling right now and the divine turtle AWWWWW!! This drama has me hooked. Period. That's all. This LOVE got me in a spin cycle. Okay.
