So this scene starts with Yoon Jae (YJ) and Hae Jun (HJ) eating in a fancy restaurant with a romantic vibe, just like HJ wanted. She seems really happy with YJ's choice of place for their date. In fact, she didn't even think YJ would know such kind of place since it wasn't like the ones they ate in during their previous dates. It's safe to assume that HJ thought YJ really made an effort to find this restaurant.
Then here comes the girl from YJ's last blind date; she was with her friends. Excusing herself from her group, she sits down by YJ and HJ's table, then starts saying things that would surely ruin this special date.
Blind Date Girl: Why are you eating here together? Other people might think you two are dating, but I know you're not. [Ugh. I want to slap her on the face!]
"...Oh he didn't tell you? This is the place where we had our blind date. He made an effort to find this place because he knew I'm a vegetarian. Isn't that considerate of him?" [Somebody strike her with lightning please!]
YJ: That's not being considerate. I looked this up on the internet. [Boy, something worse is coming!]
Blind Date Girl: Now that we've met here again, it makes me think that we're meant to be.
YJ: *laughs nervously* [Okay now I'm surely in trouble.]
Blind Date Girl: I never called because I didn't want to bother you, but I'll call from now on. [She must think she's really charming~ Witch!]
(turns to HJ) I'm cheering for you, Miss. Somebody once said that one should live a life that doesn't involve lawyers so I hope we never meet again. [And she said those words with a sweet smile! If saying offending words while smiling is a crime, I'll make sure she gets the worst punishment.]
Hae Jun's facial expressions while blind date girl talked were on point but subtle, but inside she must be exploding while holding a pitch fork. LOL. She kept her calm while saying:
HJ: *smiling* I'll be sure to quote her on that. The last words she said really stood out. (stands) "I hope we never meet again." (walks out)
YJ sat there holding a fork, incredibly dumbfounded but still doesn't have a complete grasp of what's going on. Fortunately, it didn't take long for him to realize it eventually. He stands, leaves the table and follows HJ to the parking lot. Flashbacks of the times he spent with her must have started to play inside his head.
YJ: But...
HJ: Stop following me.
YJ: You can't just leave like this.
HJ: ...Didn't you hear me? I said we should never meet again.
YJ was silent here but it would seem that scenes of his moments with HJ continued to play in his head and like glass, they all get shattered to pieces. Here he realizes that he needs to do something. So, teary eyed, he ran ahead of HJ and blocked her car's door. [If find this scene really heartbreaking...]
YJ: Are you really done with me? [Along with his heart, mine also falls into the abyss... So heartbreaking!]
HJ: Of course. Why would lie about it?
YJ: But I can't do that... Not see you again. [Aww... The thought of not seeing Hae Jun must have broken his heart even more. I'm not tearful, you are.]
HJ: (long silence; she didn't know what to make of his words) What do you mean by that?
YJ: (rushes to hold HJ's face) Can't you just keep quiet? [This part is just so hot!] (tilts his head closer to hers) You tell me. Should I stop?
Here YJ begins to consider what HJ wants. He doesn't rush to kiss her just because he wanted to. He asks her first if she would allow him to (kiss her).
HJ: No...
And YJ kisses HJ! [Invisible fireworks everywhere!!] Stops to look at her in the eye. She looks back at him too, then closes her eyes as YJ leans forward once again for another kiss. This time HJ kisses back. [More invisible fireworks!! Butterflies in my stomach; my heart is about to explode!!]
Thank you for this list! I've already seen Let Us Meet and Review Notebook; I still haven't finished My Happy Home. I'll try checking out the others. And thank you too, for your appreciation of charming Son Ho Jun and his drama. :)
That ending scene with Yoon Jae and Hae Jun - 😍😍😍!!! Teary eyed Yoon Jae is so heartbreaking! He finally realized how important Hae Jun is to him. I hope to see him treating Hae Jun well. I hope he also wouldn't stay mad (if he would) at Hae Jun for the tip she gave to Writer Sun. I hope to see more of them!!!
First complaint - Choi Geom's motive for betraying Poong Baek is nothing but a plot convenience. Out of the blue…
Same thoughts ran through my head as I was watching. The punishment for a betrayal that was done not for an entirely selfish motive was too harsh. And Choi Geum should have made himself a servant to Cha family not the other way around.
Serious respect to the entire production team and cast. All those who played dual roles in the past and present…
I guess it was intentional for Hee Soo character to be a bit bland at the beginning, since it helps for us not to think he'd become a villain at some point. But now he is and the love triangle that has already been building up even before Cha Woong remembered his past life will grow more with the evil spirit which makes him a scarier villain. 😬
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I think, so far, Poong Baek is a better character than Cha Woong. He had his priorities straight, he knew how to use his gifts for the good and although he was a soft person, he was brave enough to fight to save the person he loved. Cha Woong, on the other hand doesn't need to be Poong Baek to become a better person. His character has been gradually developing since the orphanage episode (or at least that's when I noticed) and he only needs to grow more. Knowing about his past life helps in that aspect. More than fulfilling the romance that abruptly ended in the past, he also must maximize the gifts he has and continue doing the good deed which began with Poong Baek: bring the blessings from the heavens closer to the people. Cha Woong can do this even without becoming a shaman, if he really doesn't want to be one. And I think he can maximize his full potential if he has Seul Hae (not Chun Hwa) by his side.
this page was created back in 2019, before squid game. eventually, fast forward 2022, during the promos and interviews, heo sung tae has been considered as part of the main cast. i would have loved to edit the page, but i don't have a reference article to confirm this.
While watching this drama, I'm also watching The Sound of Magic (done with it now, since it only has 6 episodes); I can't help but wish Hwang In Yeop and Lee Joon Gi to star as brothers in a comedy movie or drama. 😁
