Despite being serious, this drama is a breathe of fresh air after consecutively watching Teach You A Lesson and Weak Hero Class 1. I wanted to watch another school drama, but I thought Study Group was also fast-paced so I looked for more and found this. I'm glad I watched it. Thought-provoking and it makes you curious about your own country's educational system and how it affects the citizens. I'm still about to watch Episode 5, but it's an 8/10 for me so far. Looking forward to adjusting it to a higher rating.
Watched this after Teach You A Lesson. More scenes of the bromance triad would've been pretty to see if this was not too dark. Too violent for me, I could not follow it up with Season 2 (more for curiosity of what's next for Si-eun) so I paused and watched Mr. Mikami's Classroom (https://kisskh.at/781948-mikami-sensei).
If I had known this would be so good, I’d have waited for all episodes to come out and binge-watched this. But here I am, anticipating Tuesdays because of this J-drama.
Not just you. Lee Je-hoon said that Season 3 would be "darker", but I thought he meant in terms of the…
That would be a more wholesome hope for the villains which many if not most would want to happen. But DON’T DIE, GET REVENGE is not as wholesome as we’d want it to sound, really. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Realizing that the client is not the first victim and many other lives had already been destroyed prior, there could be some justice in the death of the villains. What makes them “deserve” death is how they did not show even a hint of remorse for the evil they’ve done. It’s the common thread among these Season 3 villains so far.
Yes, it was extremely brutal! Personally, I would’ve sent them to jail. But maybe they wanted us to see the…
Ah, yes. I see your point. I guess I do not know much about SK entertainment business, in particular, idol groups, to be aware of the depth of abuse going on. Nonetheless, the bit I’ve seen in these episodes of the drama is enough for me to know that from poverty (for third world countries) or passion for one’s dreams, there’s always a way for the selfish and greedy to take advantage of others. And that’s dark indeed.
Is it just me or did the punishments for the bad guys for the idol group story got really brutal? It might be that I just realized it now, but deliberately crashing a person’s car? Falling stage lights? Going up the roof top without an “intention” to corner the villain and mentally push her to her end?It would have been more satisfying to see them getting jailed for the awful things they’ve done. Also, I actually waited for the Music Bank hosts to mention that Elements have signed with a new agency. I hope their song Fly With Me gets to be part of the OST.
Thinking of watching this, but I have a feeling a well-catechized Catholic would hold back doing two things to be polite while watching: eye roll and chuckle. Would I be right?
There was a part that reminded me of a scene from Reply 1994 that annoyed me. (Bias couple aside, that is.) In both dramas, the ML works in the medical field but for some reason they forgo the health of the person they’re kissing. I mean, MLs from both have fever running high and they still kissed the girl they like without even considering that possibility that the FL would get sick after the kiss 😅
Trivia: The conference scene was probably inspired by a scene in the global hit RomCom, «Notting Hill». It was…
I actually had the impression that the final scene is inspired by a popular romcom movie, but the title that crossed my mind was America’s Sweethearts.
