Misa’s revelation could have been an opportune time for Wataru to tell her that he’s also from the future.…
A part of me agrees with you. But a part of me also thinks: if this second chance was given so he could pursue her, if not a relationship with, at least be able to give her the love she deserves, then the second chance at life (in connection to Misa) would have been in vain.
It is better to love and get hurt than not love at all.
That last part in Episode 8 got me a little confused… But here’s my theory:
Misa’s revelation could have been an opportune time for Wataru to tell her that he’s also from the future. But…
He realizes that if their fate gets transferred to other people, then Yuta might be in danger. Before he could truly end up with Misa, Wataru has to take care of other matters first. And especially make sure that while doing so, he keeps Misa safe (therefore, the distance).
At this point, though, a third person should know and be convinced that he and Misa are from 2025. That person could be of much help to them.
two questions!1. So the FL (So hee) did go to Seoul to meet him that night, but it ended without us being able…
1. If I am not mistaken, before the final scene was cut, a car was just arriving. I do believe that was So Hee. 2. It seemed like “seed” money for someone who decides to give up on the exam before even taking it. Negative motivation in a way. After all the hard days of study, to take the money is making all those days go to waste. But Young Ho took it so he could go to Busan.
What an incredible episode 8 though. The scene where Mi-ji and Mi rae talk on the phone while crying, it literally…
If have a feeling that by that moment (ending scene) the twins have switched back. I’m looking forward for the love line between Mi-rae and Se-jin finally connect.
Far guess here, but maybe Se-jin already knew Mi-rae in Seoul back then. I just have this feeling… Or maybe…
Just like with Ho-su, I think we will be getting some POV story from Se-jin. He and Mi-rae seem like kindred spirits. There need not be any dialogue when Se-jin first saw Mi-rae. Only a simple glance toward her, and he immediately understood. And that image stayed in him. And just as he prayed that he may overcome the struggle he was going through at that time, so he whispered the same prayer for Mi-rae. (He may not even know her name then; and it probably didn’t matter that much.)
I really like this Se-jin guy. If he were a real person, I’d like to be friends with him. Haha. Anyway, I think I missed it, but how did he go from those misspoken names to sticking to just Mi-rae? Is it just because he liked the name when Ms. Seoul (Mi-ji) introduced herself or was he able to tell them apart (which is less likely)?
This would have worked better for me if it were a 12-episode drama. At some point, I kept on watching because of the secondary couple and more adult side couple. While both lead actors are a sight to watch, the way their characters were written didn’t sit well with me. But since this is more slice of life than romance (or even comedy), I could see how realistic, in Korean culture, their dynamics are. Or even as real persons in general who often make the mistake of making selfish decisions for the “sake of others”, or failing to express the love they have for family or significant other until the last minute, they could hit harder if you lived a similar experience. This drama, I could say, is not for everybody’s enjoyment but watching it would at least make you reflect on your own life and relationships. 8/10
As an kdrama enthusiast, I give this an 8/10. But the Catholic person in me thinks this drama’s script, theology-wise is a 2/10. Then again, it’s a fantasy drama. (Funny thing though, I happen to watch this after finishing Heavenly Ever After.)
Same writers, same director, same female lead actors as with The Light In Your Eyes, it's natural to be reminded of that drama while watching this one. Heavenly Ever After's premise is interesting but somewhat hard to relate to. Also, while there is logic in labeling this drama's genre as 'romance,' it doesn't actually deliver it in the expected way. It's more about pure love and then some. The actors were excellent in their roles. (Ms. Kim Hye Ja is really an amazing and admirable actress. She already looks beautiful in her present age; she must be much prettier in her younger years.) Anyway, I would recommend this drama to those who want to see something new.
7.5/10 • Story-wise, it doesn’t stand out much. While it ended up with something I am not so convinced of, it did highlight points for thought relevant to modern Filipino family experiences. What I liked best while watching this “reunion” movie is hearing the ever-familiar banter and bickering between one of my favorite love teams (pairings) of the 90s. As the credits rolled, it felt more like this movie is a tribute to both lead actors and at the same time a closure to “that couple that got away.” Sad but sweet.
The whole mother-in-law issue made me cry buckets, I don’t exactly know why. The mother-in-law seems kinda nice to me, although she’s cold outside. Hae-sook always just assumed she was criticizing her but her mother-in-law actually cares. I mean if she died young, she must already know how much Hae-sook went through taking care of her son, there’s no way it would go unnoticed. It would be sad if they don’t get along well eventually.

(This is a really late reply. Lol)
