While the story was nothing new or special (it has many clichés), the production was gorgeous. The visuals are very beautiful I rarely came across Japanese drama that shoot in this fluid, movie-like cinematography (most Japanese drama's shoot in a very stiff way). The acting especially the young actors are splendid. The nostalgic value is high in this one.
Perhaps it's just me but don't you think ZJY has this kind of "sad-eyes" thing? Her eyes are big and clear it fits LX's description of a princess so well (or maybe he said it because ZY has that kind of eyes) but there's also certain sadness in them, which makes present ZY is so interesting to watch.
Sometimes when you saw a character who's so forgiving after being hurt by their loved one you'll think them as an idiot and naive but when I saw ZY I just thought she's brave and clear-minded.
OHH wait is this a remake of Japanese drama boku no ita jikan? (played by Haruma Miura and Mikako Tabe). The plot sounds very similar and the Chinese title also match the Japanese title

I think the novel's a mess in term of writing that's why at first I was reluctant to watch this if not for ZJY. thanks god the drama is so much better and actually reasonable
They made Li Xun much more likeable in the drama lol and overall up until latest episode I prefer the adaptation to the original novel (plot and character-wise) and not to mention that the writing in the novel wasn't that great.
Also Zhang Jingyi and Chen Feiyu have a great chemistry ❤️
Just checked the team and apparently this one is directed by Go Go squid's director and the script is written by Love O2O's screenwriter! We can expect the explosion of sweetness in this drama
Binged the novel last weekend just to see if it could somehow dissipate my hangover of LLTG. The novel was cute and light but the writing was very lacking. I have a high hope that the drama will be better than the novel. Can't wait to see Lusi and Chen Zheyuan's chemistry (the reuters are hella cute). Lusi look so cute now I could totally see her as Sang Zhi

The CSS saved herself with weapon in the book was possible because CSS was actually a transmigrated top STEM college students who had physics and chemistry knowledge. I don't think CSS in the drama have this kind of ability to create this explosion. She could built mechanisms, yes, but explosive I don't think so. Moreover, she had a time to prepare this kind of act after LBY told her that LJT was a bad person. In the drama, CSS didn't have this time window.
I also kinda wished to see her save herself, though.
