2) & 3) I've seen many cases of this in real life, so not really surprising. Mom's case was a little bit extreme, though. With Emperor, I could understand. LBY was so dashing and intelligent, so the Emperor liked him. LBY also did everything by himself, Emperor always said LBY was like a wandering soul, refused to be controlled. On the other side, sly as they were, the Prince and princesses were easier to control i.e, regarding their marriages and they also lived a sheltered life in the Palace. LBY ALWAYS want to go to war.

When LBY and his mom/aunt came to the Palace after 1.5 years missing, they were in such a poor state. Then his mom /aunt went crazy, his father divorced the mother. So other than his Huo bloodline, the Emperor also pitied LBY's family circumstances.

Actually among the Emperor's children, only third and fifth Princess were terrible. Crown Prince was kind but not capable. Third Prince and Second Princess were great. Fifth Prince was harmless albeit lack of intelligence. This was the drama only. In fact in the novel the Emperor had many children and they were OK.

Just wanted to ask, did CSS and YSJ really got engaged? Or not? I dontnunderstand, the king said theyre engaged…
They talked about engagement, and CSS went with YSJ to meet his parents. But in those times one considered engaged when they exchanged family tokens. I think in the drama they haven't done it, so even though the talk was made, they're not formally engaged.
