Actually the ending is so weird that it did not make sense. The ”real ending” should have been that Mo Qing after saving Zhao Yao from Jin Xian, he got completely possessed by the demon. In order to save Zhao Yao from himself he throw himself into the cave. So Zhao Yao start her journey to find Muo Qing so she gave up her sect leader position. It supposed to be not so happy ending but in order to avoid criticism (whatsoever reason) they edit/cut scenes to this weird format that does not make sense at all....

The reason why dragon emperor killed all those people is because he is the evil spirit of the dragon emperor not himself. The evil spirit is looking for revenge and power.

Oh my Gosh.. I am so sad. I hope the news is not true. He is such a talented actor. T____T

Oh no... I heard that this was the most highest costume drama of 2020 and came to check out but now I am not so sure if it's worth to watch now. What do you think?

Yeah, I agree with you. Really important to look how many people have rated the drama and look at their review content.

Love this drama from episode 1, despite the confusing editing at the start as I still understood the flow. It was just a bit too quick. But other than that, really enjoy it! Finally a drama that respect the intelligence of the viewer! I hope it keeps that way!

I completely agree with you - I feel that there are so many dramas out there. Somehow ratings in MDL are often on the too high side where it just is so difficult to decide which drama I need to watch. Before I decide to spend my time on a drama, I really read through most reviews, esp. paying attention to those that are not main stream.
Yeah, it was really an average drama to me. If it's not for DYX, I would not have watched it.. Is a shame.

I completely agree. I found the length to be exactly right for light-hearted romcom like this.

Oh this is really one of best romcom dramas of our time. I thought only Koreans can make it to this level but God I have been so wrong! The makers deserve a price for this! Cannot to waio to see the remaining episodes.

I did the same thing. It was my first Xu Kai drama and I put it on hold after ep. 12 as it was totally not my cup of tea. But then watched a few other Xu Kai dramas and became a huge fan of his. I picked this up again. It's really getting better and you actually get used to the style. It's good to see how Xu Kai is challenging himself outside of his (and our!) comfort zone. Maybe you can give it another chance? :)

Super happy to see them back as a lead in a drama again. They are both great actors and really have great chemistry (one of the best I have seen). Cannot wait!

I was looking for such a review! I also agree with you and it is overrated. There are better ones out there. And your points are mostly right. But I would rate it more around 8 (story is 7 for me) as I overall enjoy the drama.
