I've seen at least 10 comments like that. They say they don't like Toh because he's too creepy and then they add he's too effeminate... I bet if he was manly they would love him more, same way they like Nuea even though he's a creep in his own way lol.
The comments section didn't pass the vibe check... "Toh is too effeminate! I don't like that!" So what, effeminate guys shouldn't be seen on tv? They don't deserve to be main character?! Sad how some of you watch BL but are homophobic.
I love this series but for the first time, I was annoyed with NueaToh in episode 5. While I love them and their interaction are hilarious, it's becoming repetitive: Nuea initiates a sexy encounter with Toh, Toh is over the moon and being creepy, Nuea puts a stop to it and acts like he doesn't see Toh perving on him. Rinse and repeat. I can understand Toh's pov because of his (psychological) issues (lack of self-esteem and obsessive behaviour) but at this point I can't get behind Nuea's attitude. He knows Toh likes him and wants him sexually. He manipulates Toh to obtain what he wants (spending time with Toh, watching Toh lust over him) so what is he waiting for? He should confess his feelings! He told Sky he's now sure of his feelings for Toh. That's good but did he need to play Toh like that in order to test his theory? Also, the misunderstanding after the kiss wasn't needed since he should know now Toh is interested in him. I swear I want to slap them hard! One is all in his head and the other one is being a coward...
To those criticizing Toh creepiness and saying Nuea deserves better, are you even watching the series? You can't even see Nuea is as bad as Toh. The two are creepy in their own way. Toh is an obsessive stalker and Nuea is narcissist and manipulative. Don't you see Nuea is always the one initiating their encounter and creating situation in which Toh is going to perv on him? You might not like Toh but let's be honest, Nuea isn't better than him, they both deserve each other lol.
I called it since episode 2! I quite liked the series even if it was lacking but the explanations given in episode 7 don't make sense at all. The plot is so makjang it's laughable...
Another tedious episode to watch. I'm trying, I really do... We know Akk likes Theo because we see it every episode, but what about Theo ? He's not a great friend to Akk, he's not showing romantic behaviour towards him (meaning he's not boyfriend material) so I'm wondering why Akk likes him. Did they keep in touch during all these years? I don't think so. Akk's feelings come from childhood memories. But is it enough to build a romance? This setup worked in Lovely Writer because Sib kept tabs on Gene during the years. Then while they worked and lived together, Gene felt in love with Sib and Sib's feelings went from childhood crush to adult love. In Enchanté, they waste so much time with the 4 ambassadors instead of showing us Theo's (developing) feeling for Akk. Another thing they could have done is giving Akk a life! Who is he apart from being Theo's friend ? Does he have other friends ? What does he like? What does he do in his free time when he's not following Theo ? Same goes for Theo : he likes reading and speaks bad french but what else? They're students but we never see them in classes though 90% of the story happens in the university premises... The characters have no depth. The whole plot feels like a gimmick to get to the ending with no care for the journey to get there. It seems the writers were more interested in the story's idea (harem plot, who is enchanté, main character coming from abroad...) but didn't think through the execution.
The way I love this series... is like Toh's level of obsession :-) I'm crushing on Seng, I've been watching every BillySeng interview and they're so cute together! They're funny and very comfortable with each other. I knew Nuea had a crush on Toh, it was obvious! I like that he's being insecure, not knowing if Toh likes him back. Which is strange since he knows Toh is stalking him...or he doesn't know?! I thought he knew because he was really suspicious in Toh's room, as if he thought he would find his photos on the wall lol. Also, he knows Toh is incredibly shy and awkward so what is he hoping for ? He needs to be the one to confess first because Toh isn't going to do it since he has low self-esteem and can't imagine Nuea could be interested in him.
First episode was ok. Nothing really interesting. Wasn't bad but I can't with bullies in kdramas. It's been overused to the point it's annoying now! I almost dropped the episode because of it. Also, the characters are so clichés it's embarrassing: one MC is cute, small, awkward, shy, loves flowers and loves to cook, the other MC is tall, serious, has a resting bitch face, knows how to fight, is very popular... Isn't it straight from an early 2000's yaoi ?
Yeah this ones pretty bad imo but there are some really good Korean BL's out there, like Light On Me and the currently…
I only love To My Star, Light On Me and now Semantic Error. I know WYEL is popular but I couldn't connect with the story and the characters. Tasty Florida was nice but they ruined the ending. Korea is producing a lot of BLs nowadays but few of them are quality. I'd rather have 3 or 4 good dramas a year than 10 forgettable dramas.
Ah finally a great addition to Kbl since To My Star and Light on Me! I'm loving the storyline (I have a thing for enemies-to-lovers plot) and the acting. I also love that they took time to present the characters personality and set up the conflict. This is already so good!!
What did I just watch?This is so bad! Korean bls have original concepts but they lack in the execution. They still don't understand they should prioritize tight and efficience script (characters development and consistant plot) over substance: the cinematography might be great but we don't care about slow mo, kpop bgm, flashbacks, cliché scenes, cartoonish vilain etc. There's no time for all that with a 10min episode!
