I’m waiting if there’s going to be a scene where Duan Jiaxu sends the delivery saying “My boyfriend is in poor health. please make sure he wakes up to eat it.” and WYF receives it very confused.
On your second point, first, that is such a great question to ask. ngl I love how amazingly both the stories although…
Indeed. I just didn’t want to dive deep into this. The issue is that we try to set the viewpoint in the story that’s labelled as “present”. I guess compared to the HL, this one’s present is set in a cool tone for most of the first three-four episodes, making it slightly difficult (because if the gloomy tone) for me to connect and enjoy!
I’m a but struggling to get into this drama…well I can say two main things 1. It’s hard to see this as a standalone thing compared to Hidden Love. well that’s a natural thing because it was early, and I’ve watched it enough to know the basic plotline. So whenever the characters amd references are mentioned, I get slightly disconnected to understand when the story is happening… 2. The overall tone of the series. As far as I remember Hidden Love had a lot of warm undertones compared to this series. adn that’s expected from the plot of the series. Yet I personally like the former ones than the latter.
That doesn’t mean that this is a bad series. I have certainly enjoyed my fair share of this drama. Come back to the other generic dramas out there.
before I watch this, I just want to make sure… is the FL really funny? I mean, there are too many series who force the characters to be funny even if they’re not actually funny…
i feel like the production of this drama is different from what’s normally done for dramas…Did I not watch dramas for too long or is this absurdly high quality the norm now?
I just don’t understand the case of this drama.. I hear good things about this drama, but still the rating makes me reconsider whether to watch this drama or not..
I know that not everyone likes a multiple character centric story. I had the same issue with many stories from different languages. Game of thrones is a great example for such executions.
I typically tend to pick my most favourite character and try to watch the show through it’s lens. However this show made it impossible to do that. I started watching the show through bongsoek’s lens. Then it shifted to the Jang Joo Won’s lens. Then to the MiHyun’s lens. Then to Kim Doo Shik… Man I can’t find a character to stick to. Too much going on everywhere.
I watched to roughly 3 times. Each from different character’s lens, and everytime, minute details are different. This show is truly good.
After watching Ep6, I was a bit confused about the show. Unlike the first 5 episodes, ep6 has a lot going and also nothing going on at the same time. Then I found out that the writer's last drama was Chicago Typewriter, so I decided to stick to it. Chicago Typewriter is one of my favourite dramas, and I hope this will be too.
