totally agree with you the pure contrast of them the on going battle within are represented with shen and situ 2 vampires one turned while the other born .Shen as u said it since he was born human and had the time to experience being humane and the emotions involved even as a vampire he strived to keep the dignity and morals of a human being well of a good one at least such as his family taught him so he tried to not kill and harm if not strictly necessary while situ well he has some of the most vampire characteristic ever he is selfish dark cold immature and cruel he knows desire but no love i do believe he cares for Shen parts of it cuz he is the last of his blood and he needs him as he said to shen once i need people to take care of me and indulge me . Unfortunately Shen did just that he gave in to his whims and tantrums cuz he was his brother idk i didnt like that idk about the novel but i hoped that Shen would have been a bit more strict with him about some things like killing without mercy or being creepy orrrrrr just leave with MI and leave him on his own

what annoyed me the most was the fact that they gave li and yx more couple screen time that ml x fl i mean it was really good but i would have loved more direct approach on the romance everything was implied was good but would it have killed them to do a proper confession or a kiss a few hugs and holding hands here and there made it look sometimes like they were siblings . I expected more bold moves on min lan side sice in ML personality he was to shy and reserved to be bold on the romance side plus situ did get on my nerves , he only went to his brother for interest money or help but in the end he left him alone to save min lan to go back to yx like really idk about the novel maybe they did him dirty but i started to dislike him cuz he was selfish till the end

yes its terrible when i read it i was feeling very angry and sad cuz all the good characters friends or family of xf dies his dad his 2 sister crippled at the hand of the person who betrayed North and his older sis dies maybe cuz she is sick the sword master and chess master both die i guess cat lady dies 2 and jn and xf are left alone . Its soooooo sad but i really hope they makes some changes from the novel at least xf shouldnt let his 2 sis crippled at the hand of the enemy cuz for em czb is enemy cuz he betrayed north . And i hope they dont kill god of swords so that at least xf and jn could have someone with them and not be lonely , also the elder sister maybe they could fake her death so she can be happy with that mountain ex lover . If they really do follow the novel with that kind of tragic ending for all the most important character its gonna be a waterfall of tears
