I had a hard time watching the Korean version too, the main leads didn’t really have chemistry, and the romance just wasn’t my vibe. But this one feels totally different. For one thing, it doesn’t have those super annoying changes like the ex-fiancé And even when there’s a misunderstanding, it gets resolved pretty quickly, cause the male lead is actually written really well. He just talks to her and explains things, which I think is one of the best parts of the drama.
Of course!! One of the reasons I love this adaptation more is because the chemistry between the main actors is amazing. The production team also mentioned that in this version, their focus was on the romantic relationship between the main characters and their deep emotions, which they beautifully portray throughout the drama.

In episode 20, it was clearly shown that the prince has some information about the Gui Seal, but they talked to Zang hai in a way that made his suspicions disappear. I feel like they’re subtly making Zang hai believe that if he finds the Gui Seal, he’ll also discover the identity of the third person. when in reality, they never want zang hai to know who that person is!
It’s so intense! I really hope we find out soon whether Zang hai’s Shifus are actually good people or if they’ve just been using him all these years.

What you said is partially valid and I agree to some extent, but it doesn’t really apply to *this* drama. This is a fantasy series and if you’re looking for a drama with a different type of storyline and characters, there are plenty of others out there to watch. But in this one, there’s simply no place for a weak, submissive female lead.
Even in Antu’s character description, it’s clearly stated that she’s not accessory to others or there for show, she has her own strength and agency.
Again, I do think parts of your point are fair, but personally, seeing strong and intelligent female characters in historical Asian dramas like this one honestly makes me really happy.

Zang Hai used her to achieve his own goals and gain status in the palace, and then decided to ignore her. Of course Antu, someone who was always genuine and honest with him, is now angry. She feels like she was just a pawn in a man’s game, and honestly, who wouldn’t be upset?
I honestly don’t understand why some people have such a problem with the female character. Xiang Antu has been part of Zang Hai’s fate from the very beginning, and she’s influenced his path of revenge both directly and indirectly. The fact that she’s the princess of Dongxia already shows how important she’ll become to Zang Hai later on!
And on top of that, I really don’t get why people are against Zang Hai having a romantic relationship. He spent ten long years in prison, consumed by hatred and vengeance; and now someone like Antu has come into his life, someone who truly cares about him. When he’s with her, he can finally breathe, be himself, and feel something other than hate something like love. Personally, I’d love to see Zang Hai and Antu overcome their misunderstoods, because Antu can be that safe person for him, the one who helps him take off his mask and lower his guard.
I think the third person might be a woman! Because when they showed the third person's hand in episode 17, it didn’t look like a man’s hand in terms of appearance and size or at least not like the hand of an older man. That’s why I think the third person could be a woman.
Also, I think the third person might be Antu’s mother. According to the spoilers, Antu doesn’t have a good relationship with her mother, and her mother doesn’t seem like a good person. So maybe she’s working with them? Although that might be a bit unlikely, since Antu’s mother is from Dongxia?!
I’m not sure, but I think that mysterious masked man might be one of the three people responsible for destroying Zang Hai’s family. He raised Zang Hai all these years just to use him to find the item his father had hidden.Otherwise, how did he have such easy access to the zhuang lu yin’s house when he's known to be so strict and alert? Also, you know that music playing during the scene when they were looking at each other from inside the ambulance? It was so intense and unsettling, it doubled my suspicion. That’s just my opinion and guess ~
