I guess the novel portrays him as "prefect" man but the drama changes his character a little to make it interesting for us to watch. Otherwise, if a person seems flawless can be boring.

I wanna see them pair up again in Wuxia drama instead of modern. :3

I understand you. At first, it does portray the ML like that but later the drama explains why he act the way he does. I'm sure he probably felt remorseful after learning the truth behind his family's death from the letter his mother left him. Also, you see Ban Hua's grandmother really trusted him by giving the golden tiger tally. Getting close to Ban Hua may seems like his motive but I think it develops into true love as story untold itself.

I hope both FL & ML will make up very soon. I can't stand painful breakup in such pretty gud drama.

Omg, I cry like a baby when HuaHua's grandmother died. She sacrifice herself to protect the Ban family. GXT really gud at tat crying scene.. so much sad emotion coming~ T_T
