Aww, thankyou so much for the link. YWS was pretty much caring to her sister in law SGQ in rl....
And that GYZ or TJR in RL, he was like a cute and warm little boy.
Acting truly changed everything

Kill first ask questions later is not the way to go! 🤦🏻‍♀️
Nearly cause such heart attack to the viewers as well. What a story an amazing cinematography.
Really a suspense, not for a weak heart viewer anyway. Huff. Tian Jian Rui was amazing as well... perfect response, natural acting.

Thank you for the thorough review. Yeah, it seemed that the ML made lies as his habit in order to survive, because he lived in the community which corruption and lies were common. The FL came from a peaceful society, simple and honest. Thus, those two made the drama interesting by their conflicts.

A bit weird one was his response when he stabbed her severely, he blamed everyone forced him to kill her. He was pretty childish character here.

Another illogical miracle was she could survive from penetrated stab wound on her left chest. The damage would be fatal, injuring her heart and heart capsule (mediastinum), left lung and rib fractures. The bleeding would be massive since the ML pulled out the blade.

The ending was fine anyway

Title Wanru's Journey Spoiler
it starts getting nonsensical at ep.21. like, after trying to kill ML and forcing the girl to marry him, suddenly…
Yeah, the thing in this story I disliked much. 2ML wanted to kill the ML, forcing the FL to marry him just to spare the ML life. In fact, the wedding was also a bait for villain Su, to kill the FL.(The FL wouldnt survive if Fu Yao was not willing to swap with her in the wedding). Meanwhile, the ML was forced to drink poisonous wine as per 2ML ordered, he would not survive if the ML's bodyguard was late to save him.

Really the character of 2ndML was very confusing, cruel, and heartless. When the FL did know their conspiracy, he did not apologize, instead he put the burden of apology to ML. Was the ML the mastermind? I mean he was the one who almost lost his life, and 2nd ML did not apologize to him as well for whipping him and almost poisoning him.

He was just flat in expression. Dealing with Bao's life lost, hurting Zhuwan's feelings, or killing other figurines. Tbh, the scary character was truly the 2ndML here.

The development of the FL as heroine was not improved much. She was still an insecure and dependent character until ep 24. She was used, manipulated, and discarded, but still forgiving and helping and gluing herself to them. Perhaps the writer and producer hated the FL character, so they gave this kind of weak FL.

It's really different character, nothing related to LBFAD at all.I don't think there will be some chang heng cameo,…
That clip of chang heng was not in official LBFAD episodes though. It was released in independent path, if I am not mistaken

Was Shan que becoming another character or here he was Shanque's decendant? (the character played by the same actor)

And, I am truly waiting for Changheng's cameo here.

I am glad there was other viewer who are able to catch the touchy part of the master student realtionship of LLH and FDB. Even with some unique hide and seek events, those two were bond by such invisible string, to help and complete each other, dealing and solving their challenging problems together. When LLH was in danger, FDB came to help, and vise versa. Even they had such understanding in remote "encrypted" master student conversation, FDB was able to execute his master instruction perfectly.

The most touchy parts when finally FDB called him Shifu in such casual and joyful scene (ep 39) and LLH's gratefulness to have FDB as his disciple (ep 40), followed by sad scene of being fainted. Happy and sad, they were together.

I am amazed with abudant wise tutelage, Li lian hua provided in this story though. He saw what life should be, as he continuously showered his surrounding with peace and benevolance until his very last

Okay, when it ends and you PM me and confirm if it was good, I would give this drama a chance and watch from Episode…
Sure thing, I will let you know after the episodes end, to tell if it has a rewatch value or just a so so drama that will be passed and forgotten. Thank you for your reply.

Anyway, I was surprised you rated very low for the story. Yeah, the story had many court, political and scheming coversation scenes, in regards to historical dramas theme, however the action scenes were shot pretty well too. Dylan's character here was like becoming DFQC's version in mortal world. He controlled, schemed everything, but love. Pretty interesting though.

And about your question above, regarding the young prince as the heir, if you continued to watch, he was not on the story anymore. So don't worry. Tbh, I had a feeling that Xiao Duo's journey until ep 40 would be very though especially against the current emperor, perhaps might cost his life.

Hopefully it would be a happy ending one. Most historical drama had sad ending. But since this one had a bit fictional aspect, hopefully thos drama has a great ending one.

I am glad that there is still an exceptional reviewer that can say the story value is less than five. Bravo. For me, it has only 4 values : strong female character and caring mother, caring father (Gu jun), redeemed male lead in first and second stories of reincarnation and smart son, those were properly settled, eventhough there were still gaps and holes among them. The third reincarnation was truly a mess in the story. The closing was just like that, no redemption, no proper epilogue of consolidation such as in ten mile of peach blossoms or love and redemption or love and destiny

As you said the supportive characters were not developed well. They were fragmented, and just for addons. A bit dull and jumping.

Review Palace of Devotion Spoiler
Seems like not only me that think the drama was really fast pace and disturbing. I thought at first this drama would be like Joy of Life with a strong and wise character of the old Emperor but apparently not. :(

I did not read any synopsis prior watching this drama. In Ep 1 I tried to guess who would be the the main leads. I made a correct guess with Vic Chou since his face was familiar, but his character development was too abrupt and did not have any virtuous deeds throughout the drama. He got the throne by fate, seemed a bit womanizer, a bit unfilial, ungrateful (would cast away people close to him easily especially to his empress/his original first wife).

At first I thought the main female lead would be his abandoned wife/empress (because she was potrayed as a strong, righteous, loyal to her husband eventhough he was unjust to her), but I was wrong, since she was only a supporting female lead. I am a bit dissapointed though.

In fact this was the story of Liu E. As an audience I was a bit dissapointed about how this character could be a worthy one to watch. Her entrance was not dignified, instead of she would be noted as an insincere character. She helped the prince in the war, yes, but she wanted to secure her own position as well. Not unique, just similar to other cunning and scheming female char in the harem story. The editing made it worse too. Dully noted and sensed, she would bring many destruction to many characters there.

Well...so far was still in ep 20...and my conclusion was still the same. And still 40 eps to go. Sigh. Perhaps the power of fast forwarding would be the important key.

Yes...it has paddled and whipped scenes if him on the trailer. Seems like his aura is the King of Soffering and Sacrifice

Review The Wolf
Similar thought. But I think the toxic love of the first male lead and female was not usual type of love. The female lead character was a submissive type thus she was okay, accepting and forgiving and always back to the first male lead character no matter how hurtful and painful he behave towards her. And because of that, she could not see the love of XZ 'scharacter because it was too bland. Kindness is tasteless for a submissive, so yeah..it was toxic

Review The Wolf
Second person to say that I agree with your notes and review. Tbh I am a bit disapointed after ep 30ish and especially typical bad ending. It is not a good option to watch in this year. Lol

First crucial thing that made me feel cringe about this drama was the first male lead. The actor was good when playing rude but the transition between kind and evil was not smooth enough. It felt like still acting...and some kind of unnatural. Second of the ackward thing of the male lead...was the make up and hairstyle. His face was really darkbrown, a contrary to the bright skin of his hands. Also his haircut was not really majestic.
His character was like a trampoline, too many misunderstandings. Well tbh I cannot complain much to Darren about the character since the script said so. Blame the scriptwriter for that. Lol.

Li Qin was quite good to show emotion, but still when she played childish behavior or cuteness then mature in one scene...still there was a gap in the transition. But the gap was not so wide...still it could be accepted. I saw her superb role in Joy of life..thus she should be very capable to give her best more.
About her character, well she was actually a submissive type. No matter the first male lead harm or hurt her in the name of his protection, she would accept and forgive, and back to his arms again. And again...blame the scriptwriter for that.

The only thing I was so grateful was Xiao Zhan's character. He executed his role awesomely as if he was born for that role, not just acting. I understand why his character could not be paired to Li Qin's. Well. Li Qin's was a submissive. Submissive cannot deal with kindness. Blame the scriptwriter for that. Lol.

After seeing general's lady, jiu liu overlord and the bloom of Ruyi pavilion, I think the wolf is not in my list to rewatch frequently like those three

Agree with you. As much as I love Xiao Ge, DMBJ is about Wu Xie and his family. From the beginning, XG is a character…
Finally it is over. Ep 30 with full of the Trio fighting poisonous gas zombies. Love to see Xiao Ge still there ...

And the funny thing is Mr Nanpai was as a cameo, as the high level staff in warehouse 11.

And the closing conversation, the audience will be consfused if those three of Iron Triangle conversation was in character or out of character (means like as if they talked off camera)

Glad everything was allright.

I'm very much with u and guess among the minority who cares very little if Xiao Ge appears or not as my main is…
Haha. Tbh they, diehard fans of Zhang Qiling blamed the storyline creator, of not giving more screentime to his character. It is understandable though since Zhang Qiling is a unique character and he is one of the Iron Triangle (even his entry background song was phenomenal in ep 28 preview). Adaptation will give the production crew wide range to differ from the original novel as long as the important main lead plot is still intact. (Btw I wonder though if the 4th sworn sister exists or not in the novel---I am still looking for it)

I myself wish Zhang Qiling will have his own drama or a spinoff about his life. I am sure it will gain many viewers also since this character is unique, mysterious, charming, badass, and loyal too. Even Mr Black Glasses and Liu Sang already have had their own novel titles and spinoff/side story movie.

That was why I wish there would be a side story or maybe a full drama about Zhang Qi Ling. In realistic one though, not fantasy like in the movie Time Raiders (because the CGI was clearly seen... like fantasy)
