so after I had the courage to watch the subbed episode, I understand Adachi a bit better. It's still very painful to watch. Especially that moment when he asks Kurosawa to teach him and we see his eyebrow movement, the tension, and the side profile like in the scene at the restaurant in episode 10. I really love the nuanced acting in that super painful scene. I think some people were assuming that Kurosawa let Adachi read his mind when he grabbed his wrist. To me, it was rather that I think that Kurosawa wanted to show him that he doesn't care if he can read his thoughts. He wanted to physically touch him and show him that he trusts him and that this is real. I think it's an interesting choice that we don't hear Kurosawa's thoughts at that moment. We don't have to. Adachi not only emotionally but also physically tried to push away Kurosawa. Kurosawa believes and knows the Adachi who didn't have any magical powers. Adachi needs to realize that Kurosawa loves him for his personality, not his magic. That he will love him even with and without the magic. I wish Adachi would realize that it might take time to be more confident, but he doesn't need to push the ones that love him away, just because he doesn't think he can be loved without the magical powers. Kurosawa still needs to be more selfish. I see the potential of Kurosawa to be manipulated by others by his reaction.
Another thing I noticed, was the change of coloring in the scenes where the director is in it/Adachi presents. It's not warm anymore. It's colder, almost greyish. The contrast is very stark. The last scene is on the other hand, is very warm, almost too warm. The atmosphere is too romantic in contrast to Adachi's thoughts and this overall painful scene.
Yearly Cherry Magic Re-Watch Party Tradition: Let's keep the magic alive!
So some of us really liked the idea of a yearly Cherry Magic watch party tradition. Let's keep the Cherry Magic alive. I think it would be wonderful to have a cherry magical day or days where we could meet up, watch cherry magic and cherish the memories even after it all "ends". Maybe we could choose a day from the Cherry Magic timeline.
