I’m still in ep. 17 but I want to know if the Emperor now consort is also from the Yan family. the Dowager Empress…
The dowager empress is a Xue who married a Shen to become the empress. Her son (the now emperor) is a Shen/Xue. Dowager empress wants her Xue family to continue on in line of power. The emperor, his empress, consorts, and concubines are not related to the Yan family. The dowager empress's son (the emperor) is sickly without children, so dowager empress planned for her other son Shen Jie to marry her niece Xue Shu (his cousin) to continue to Xue direct line of power. Since the emperor got his consort pregnant (possibly with son/next emperor), the line of emperor will be farther away from the Xue family.
They don't like the Yan family because Xue Dingfei's mother was Yan. Xue Dingfei's father did not love his mother, and hence got another woman pregnant with Xue Dingfei's younger brother (the entitled whiny one). When the 300 souls thing happened, the dowager empress and Xue Dingfei's father was more than willing to sacrifice Xue Dingfei for the future Shen/Xue emperor.
True! The political plot alone intriguing & keep me on my toes. What else the upcoming romance
Speaking of intense, I'm excited for the YL & XW cup mixup scene. In the book, it's shocking and I loved it. Never read a scene like it in other cnovels. 🤣 I hope the drama is able to include it in some sort of way.
He is a sickly schemer behind the scenes. He can use knives and bow & arrow, but he is not the brute force fighter type. He is the advisor behind the emperor and generals.
I've watched to ep 7, and it's good. The female lead/s are really lovable and believable in their character switch. The ML is a heart throb. The throwing paper scene made me smile so hard.
Depressing, not even upsetting - just boring. No romance, all drama exaggerated out for an hour. Slow af. I love the actors/actresses in their other works, but this drama is not for me.
I tried to watch The Untamed a few times , but could not get pass Ep 3. I don't why people loved it.
The Untamed is one of those dramas that gets better the farther in. There is also the novel that gives further depth. Honestly, I think I was 20+ episodes in thinking I hated it, then something flipped. My heart was racing. It was all I could think about. I read the novel, and then when I'd watched and read everything it was all I could think about for a week+ in withdrawls.

If it's not filmed soon, then yes they will probably recast. ZLH would have been perfect cast though. T-T
