The last few episodes are the best parts in the book, so I hope you continue to watch.

In past life, he was more tragic. YL dad died at his bday celebration. He never knew about her birthday sword, just thought she never came to his bday. He was exiled and came back, still loving her. He got drunk and r*ped her. Afterwards, he felt guilty. In rebirth life, he eventually remembers past life and feels guilty towards JXN. JXN makes him promise never to drink in this life.

In past life she didn't sleep with Xie Wei. She tried to in order to protect herself bc YL had just r*ped her, but XW sent her away telling her to respect herself. Next day he sent her a knife so she could protect herself from YL, but instead we all know what she did with that knife, what she thought XW implied she do with that knife.

Emperor's only goal is to keep himself in power. With Xue Shu, she will scheme for him instead of against him . Taking Xue Shu to his side and letting the dowager empress's daughter be married off will weaken the dowager empress's mentality. Emperor is selfish, doesn't care about family or his court.

He forces her to stab him because she is scared of him and resents him for things. Afterwards, she loses her fear of him and she gains perspective that he genuinely cares for her. Thus she starts catching feels, especially when she sees all he has done and will do for her.

Going by novel, it will air after 2 year separation, border scenes/yanlin back on air, the princess's foriegn marriage and loss. Probably 30+ because too much to cover before.

In the end, XW/YL/Yan army over throw the emperor/Xue family. JXN ends up picking the princess as the new leader. The princess choses not to lead or chose a new emperor. Thus the new age, where people realize total emperors aren't needed. Princess gave Kunning Palace to JXN to live.

FL will have property with farmland, salt mines, etc on it that is feeding/funding the Yan army. Fanyin manages the property papers for it. ZYZ tries to take them because he works for the Xue family. Fanyin gets killed by him and the papers get taken.
