HE IS SKINNY. It's not "body shaming," it's a fact. lol Just another SJW trope..."body shaming."
Look man u can call me what u want, that's not the issue. its not a vivid description term. Genocide is not a vivid description term. Call him skinny, call him thin, thats ur right, but the holocaust is not a descriptive term. Thats the only problem i have. You have the right to ur opinion but a term like that is incredibly insensitive man how can you not see that. I'm not trynna be sweet, im trynna have human decency. Cause i've studied those victims whose "description" u so casually threw around, i've seen what they look like. That is something that should never be used as a "extreme descriptor". No one is critizising ur style of writing, we r all pointing out how that is a wildly inappropriate comparison. But hey, what would a dumb SJW like me know right ✌

I'm sure you don't care, as you have made abhorently clear that u dom't care to listen to the opinions of anyone other than those who agree with yours, however i hope you at least to try and understand how comparing this actor to the victims of a mass genocide which took the lives of million in the most trecherous ways imaginable, is just a bit insensitive. No one cares about ur use of language, it is the blatant disrespect and disregard for other people that is saddening. We are all here to debate, converse and share (whether that be like or dislike opinions). Your insistance that anyone who has shred of respect for anyone else is a "SJW" is pathetic at best and somewhat harmful at the other extreme. We are here to have civil discussions, if u are here to disrespect and throw around terms then don't be surprised if people call you out on it.

I see your point, but these were not two consenting adults. It was rape.
Yupp i was actually talking about just tge whole "step bro" issue of the couple, not the whole dubious consent aspect.

Okay so there seems to be a lot of debate surrounding the last 2 episodes, and rightfully so, especially with younjie and his step bro's relationship so i thought i'd pitch in my 2 cents. First of all the step bro thing, look as weird as some may find it at the end of the day if they are 2 consenting adults and their relationship isn't hurting anyone it shouldn't matter who dates who or what not - that's their call to make. The issur rises with the drunken sex scene. Others may disagree but at least from my study of law, the consent given is void if the person is not of sound reason when consenting. Given that younjie also kinda hinted to the fact that he got Xingsi drunk on purpose to take advantage of the situation, i can't help but think this was (at the very least) incredibly dubious situation. I've also seen a lot of people defending this behaviour (not just here but other forums as well) and i think thats one of the reasons romanticising things like this is so harmful. Yes maybe you and i understand that this is fiction, but there might be someone out there who takes this as a "this behaviour is acceptable". Thats not okay. That being said, the show is only 1/3 in so there is a fair chance this will be handled with the right gravitous and youngjie will recieve the help he needs (because the kid DOES need help, he does not seem well adjusted). These topics need to be discussed, yes, but they must be handled with the right sensitivety if they do. We must remember that this scenario is real life for some people and not just fiction, romanticising the situation is just as harmful as not talking about it at all.

But i mean thats just my 2 cents. Feel free to add or refute anything i have said, im always open to learning more/debating. I do ask tho that u bring an open mind if we do debate, as will i, since no opinion perfect and we are all learning.

No-one gonna talk about the scene leading up to the flashlight incident ... we just gonna ignore that ... what…
Hey there love, i just wanted to say that i hope you aren't feeling responsible for people debating this point and bringing it up in other posts. You are allowed to have questions and concerns about these sorta scenes. This one kinda just flew right over my head so i didn't realise what was happening till i got here. I can't comment on how appropriate it was as i am not educated enough in the culture but please don't feel bad for starting this discussion. You have nothing to apologise for <3 Stay safe Jay and i hope you have a good day ❤

not only Thai series, but another country is also doing a lot of weird BL series
Ahaahahh oh god not the tripping and face being too close ✋ i'm getting 2moons flashbacks and it's terrifying. I completely agree with the monoply argument, for too long thailand has been really the only country to do bl. And even if they did, 90% is just based off of books that are 80% "whats hotter than 1 hot guy? 2 hot guys ?" and 20% tangible plot. HIStory (2 and 3 at least) gave good examples of how much better the industry could be and it's a bummer that the main writer won't be coming back for the 4th installment. In terms of thai bl, "tale of a thousand stars" does look quite promising to me and the backdrop is actually quite unique. I hope in the future more shows, regradless of country, treat lgbtq+ subject matter with the integrity and respect it deserves (and for the love of god, pls, can we not have anymore authors like MAME try to do anything)

I think this is quite an interesting conversation piece. There's no doubt that a lot of Thai dramas are stupidly formulaec and actually push quite harmful stereotypes abt the lgbtq+ community. However, i've seen very repetitive concepts in Pinoy bl dramas as well (after the success of gameboys, an avalanche of very similar dramas just released all at once). I think it's less about the country itself and more about whether the writers are here to tell a story with a message or just here cause they know they can make some fast money. I'd say for 2020, 4 defining dramas (which are, funnily enough, all from 4 different countries) would be ITSAY, gaya se pelikula, cherry magic and your name engraved here in. The reason these were so popular is because of how well they were written and how well they were portrayed. Gameboys should also get a special mention as they were rlly the first to do the whole romance via screens plotline.

I agree with you but they also can do good shows, unlike what I thought before for example friend zone was improving…
Oh no i completely agree, especially p'Aof (i think he's a pretty great director). They've just dropped the ball on quite a few shows i was rlly excited abt recently. I'm hoping this one turnes out well

1st episode was exactly what it needed to be. it set the scene, established characters and developed an overall tone for the show. the colour palette is beautifully natural and the music is so soothing that it makes me reminiscent about a place i've never even been to. GMMTV has a magical way of messing shows up but im REALLY hoping this turns out good. Also, Mix and Earth's establishing dynamic is just *chef's kiss*. i'm interested to see other aspects shown in the trailer like tian's growth in character and the "acceptance by the village" arc.

Person MAME
The fact that people here want to lock her up for fiction is quite scary. Are you against freedom of expression?…
I understand what your trying to say but here's my issue. First, of course MAME shouldn't be jailed for righting a story, that's ridiculous. However, love by chance and tharntype (both series feature rape as a subject matter and handle it with not even a shred of the gravitous it deserves) were not only popular, but wildly publicised and showcased. MAME is a renowned author or BL now and unfortunately that comes with responsibility. Someone with that large of a fanbase and following CANNOT perpetuate the horrofyingly harmful romantization of rape that is prevalent in these books. Nowhere is this okay but influence comes with responsibility. These books push a false predatory narrative of gay men and, fantasy or not, this leads to a lot of young and impressionable people (the primary consumer base) believing these steretypes to represent the truth of gay men. This needs to stop in every BL and criticising these autors are essential for thay change.

wait why does this show have an 8.0 rating?? is this a glitch cause the maths doesn't add up. over 71% of the people rated this as above 9 so how can the average be 8.0? i'm so upset the show is so good it does not deserve this rating

They saved the show from... the sin of same-sex love, by not having any? They saved it from offending asexuals?…
That was beautifully articulated. I agree with you completely.

why are u such a hater. you always talk bad to every series lol
No where in my comments prior did I state (or even insinuate) that I was studying art (I said I was a writer) nor did I attack ur opinion. So I am unaware of what could have warranted such a distasteful reply. This is a discussion forum where opinions (whether similar or different) are shared and everyone's should be treated with at least the basic decency. If it is a fight you are looking for (childish name calling and personal attacks when u do not know me nor do I know u) then I am not the right person to try and offend. I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my comment but hope in the future to experience a more civil and respectful discussion.
