I might sound mean but I don't know how to ship the ML who has been suffering atrociously for more than half of the drama with a FL who literally smiles like it's happiest day of HER life on HIS wedding day and sleeps like she hasn't slept for a week in the same room where they ended up by laws of dramaland. I would understand the agony if it was sort of shown to be two sided but...this is a 90% one-sided love. She is initially shown to be such a miserable person that love doesn't look like it was meant to be part of her life agenda for the next 10 years at least, honestly. And here is the thing: she's finally not miserable in life anymore (so she has plenty of time & energy to - as it happens when one is too happy - ruin her serenity by falling in love with the wrong man) but he almost looks father-zoned to me at this point.
I am actually so frustrated that I would rather have the continuation of the story as him marrying the 2FL and staying forcefully married and them falling in love giving us a enemies-to-lovers trope. I don't even want to see the 2FL near 10 meters radius from the 2ML. There is no way in hell one isn't swayed even for a blink of an eye for someone like the 2FL. There is literally NO HEART FLUTTERING MOMENT BETWEEN THE SECOND LEADS. I wish the ML and 2FL could just get married in a frigging alternative-universe and realise that the FL and the 2ML were just a passing crush and real life, commitment and closeness brings out the real stable 'forever' kind of love. Now THAT sounds 'fun' - something this drama stopped being when the writer decided that this splendid drama had to take the most unoriginal twist from what would have been a great mutual-yarning type of love for not one but TWO couples.
This show would be so much better and funnier if 2ML was legit just a very close protective but misguided friend…
You said everything on my mind. They could have made it fire if he was a friend who behaved like one and if his struggles were about his feelings about the 2FL being a dad and all but NO. Let's introduce the most boring trope in the drama-world in one that was finally ticking all the right romcom boxes
I will be really really annoyed if the 2ML actually has feelings for her. WHY CANT THEY LEARN FROM THE SECOND COUPLE STORIES from dramas like The Beauty Inside or The business proposal??? I literally watched both dramas just because I wanted to see the 2nd couple together. I find the 2FL sooo pretty and endearing and the 2ML seems quite a nice guy and I think their dynamic would be sooo much better if they just had their own story, own soundtrack, own heart-fluttering moments without triangles or those annoying inconveniences
i don't really get why they kept saying bong chung ja is fat and ugly, when uhm jung hwa has always been conventionally…
it's because uhm jung hwa is conventionally pretty that she can act the role of ugly. It's not like they would actually ever cast a...let's say, culturally/conventionally unattractive person so play the role cause that would mean putting a real face on what 'ugly' means. Same as Another Miss Oh
Anyways, she looked so cute with the curly hair, such a pity :(( This is when you know that culturally considered attractive features are not universally accepted truth
