I honestly thought their relationship is cute too in the webtoon and I don't think she is even that ugly barefaced, more like her vision of her image is distorted since the bullying, I think she thinks she is even more ugly because she keeps herself untidy, that's all. I was totally hoping they would stay a couple in the webtoon but when things had started to be uncertain and she had literally -10 character development I was out of it. This is why I appreciate the clarity of this drama despite the misleading previews that possibly click-baited many SJ fans
