It really sucks for me to see that some people who doesn't like this drama are like"Y'all just watching this for…
it's super cute and funny and even though full of cliches, so what? it's not like I expect this to be Stranger or Voice as if I needed those, I would go and watch that genre. It's not a mature adult's love story either, that's reserved for dramas like Run On, which it portrays in an excellent way. TB is entirely true to it's genre and it also takes modern turns to love stories so I am loving it and I know I am not alone loving it
Ok you hurt me with CLOY couple. They deserved better.
I think they made it dramatic on purpose so they we would cry over it till today. I mean they were soooo nice together and I cried a river for them. I guess this is why we will remember them for a long long time, like people remember Titanic
The reason I like the main couple is that the director never failed to show they were even for a second. No misleading scenes despite sweet/sad/cute scenes with SJ. Her feelings were clear, not like in Start Up where the FL kept staring/following around/was in love with HJP for 15 years and 9 episodes and the whole audience was extremely confused and some were so even until the penultimate episode. So it is not some mystery who she will end up with and I am happy they didn't drag it till episode 16, like some thriller drama for no reason. He has a messed up childhood and adolescence, with his orphan life, bad father and death of the closest friend and loss of all friendships. Human interaction is not something he has had much. She had a pretty sad adolescence too, until recently with so much bullying and even her own mom making her feel worthless. Then one day he finds this one and only person who can make him smile and she finds this one and only person who can make her feel loved and beautiful for who she is. They are so emotionally intimate with each other even before the kiss that it was just right: the right amount of vulnerability, the right amount of awkwardness, the right amount of friendship and understanding. Of course SH is behaving crazy with his best friends and perhaps only male friend he cares about the most pining over the girl he is in love with directly in front of his eyes and with JK who was his breathing space suddenly ignoring him without a reason and running away whenever she sees him when they were close enough for him to cry in her arms until some days ago. I don't see why it would not be clear to someone that he is behaving this way for pretty clear reasons. And it's not like he is some 30 years old adult who has all the control of the world over his emotions, nor is JK a woman in her 30s who can't cry, can't behave impulsively or can't have her feelings take over her. They are teens and they are perfectly fine both as themselves and as a couple.
I love the drama much more than only the love line. I love SJ and his whole family. I love all JK's siblings. I love all the side love stories, the friendships and the funny scenes which are actually funny and the acting of the cast and what else can I even say. I didn't even want to start this because the lost plot of the webtoon and the lack of any type of character development were not my cup of tea but I did, for MGY and I don't regret it one bit
