Good story, good execution. Heartwarming without trying too much!
Ive never been a Yoon Kye Sang fan before until now. In this series he showed how great an action star he can be. Im looking forward to watching all his other series that I have never seen before.
What i liked:
1. The story is very grounded to the idea of a good asian neighborhood, where everyone knows everyone and is always in each other's businesses.
2. The cast is great. A lot of overacting and underacting at times. It really felt like watching real-life neighbors. I also love the diverse characteristics of each characters and what each ones bring to the table.
3. Great action scenes and choreography especially those with YKS.
4. The bromance between Choi Gang and Byeong Nam
5. The father-daughter dynamics of Choi Gang and Do Yeon.
What needs improvement:
1. The supposed to be terror attacks werent really terrorizing at all. Big explosions werent really big, if anything they are actually underwhelming. I would chalk it up and assume it has to do with budget constraints because those explosions needs a lot of extra time in special effects to make them more terrorizing and believable.
2. I dont quite understand the idea that civilians are taking charge of police/military operations.
3. How come the assemblywoman came out scotch free when in fact she is one of the most guilty among the public officials?
4. There were a couple of characters with gay undertones but are really not explored. It would have been a nice step forward.
5. Weak villain.
Its a very enjoyable watch, i hope a lot more people can see it. Overall its an 8.5!
