Hi, this is not a hate comment so please don't attack me.ðŸ˜First of all, this wasn’t labeled as BL. It’s…
Hi Nara, thanks for writing, and no i dont and will not think its a hate comment, and i dont ever attack any comments whether its good or not so good. I understand every single person can translate and interpret shows differently so im open to any point of view.
Yes, the Japanese production may not have labeled it as BL but i kinda disagree that the show wasnt labeled generally as a BL or a n LGBTQ content for that matter. Just look here at MDL and the genre it is grouped under. Some promotional writeups and news* are even calling it the first upcoming Japanese BL of 2026. Even the few youtube channels that pay attention to this show are clearly labeling it as BL. IMDB even categorizes it as a romance (which is the same label every show gets when it suggests romance between main leads).
The problem is even if it's other media presence is not controlled by the production company, the company has control over their own teasers and more than half og their upcoming episode previews are clearly teasing audiences that the 2 leads will eventually kiss or hold hands or do couple-y things.
By episode 6 i am already so frustrated with the show and ihave this strong suspicion that the show is not in fact a BL so i seeked out the manga and lo and behold, the manga is indeed not a BL and there is not even one scenario where the two leads are almost kissing, Even if the show is almost a page-by-page adaptation of the manga, they have clearly and obviously added a few (almost romantic) scenes to intentionally generate a BL hype and make us think that it is a BL and to watchbait BL fans.
With all that aside, I still gave the show a fairly high rating of a 7 for its own merits since i specially really loved the performance of the 2 actors. The problem is with so many contents and dramas now, i would not have paid attention or watched this show if it wasnt marketed or if it didnt misled people as a BL. That really left a sour taste of betrayal when i found out it is not.
PS. If the show made a special episode wherein the 2 leads officially come together as a couple, i will happily increase my rating by at least 1 point.
Another great show from miss PSH. The buildup from the first episode is so rewarding. It started out as an almost subjectively feminine girl-power show but evovled into something really enjoyable.
Minato's Laundromat is a teacher-student romance too? ;__; that one has been on my to watch list for so long :((
Hi Mina, thanks for wiritng even if this was a review ive written ages ago.
Yes Minato is a teacher-student romance (hmmm maybe just partly since Minato wasnt really a teacher but a swiiming coach) but i think that show handled the situation a lot better and with a little bit more respect with regards the main couple (but unfortunately i couldnt say the same with regards the secondary couple). It is enjoyable if you are just looking for a quick drama to watch.
Gay undertones? I’m curious who you got that from… I didn’t get any whiff of romantic flutters beyond established…
Wow, thanks for writing back and sending me your thoughts about the series. i love all your points, would have loved to see your reply as a an actual review because this show needs and deserves a lot more attention than its currently getting and the fact that you wrote my short review such a lenghty comment means you really cared about the show too.
Kidnapping Day, yes, its the first on my to watch list. Really really loved YKS here, its only his second series that i am able to see and he really made a mark here with his smooth action moves. I wonder if its all him or most of it are done by stuntdouble but it is still believeable enough and made me really wanna watch all his series.
Regarding the gay undertone, i think im not the only one who has noticed (because i read a few comments too here and there) that LJH's Jeong Hwan and his friend who got bombed on the bus may have been more than friends. I also personally kinda feel that with Byeong Nam's character too. Well it may just be me because im a huge BL fan and i give double meaning to almost every drama i watch.
Oh see that's what I love about it. I hated the over-arching villain and actually skipped everything to do with…
yeah i loved the episodic format, but the last story arc dragged for too long, do we really need 4 episodes for that with a villain thats not really menacing and threathening.
The main seasonal villain adds a little bit of depth and REAL challenge to our characters,. The episodic villains are just too easy to defeat and couldnt really give a true sense of danger and threat to our characters. I need a real proper villain.
wow, this series is at 7.9, seriously? Did it get any better? I stopped at episode 3 cause i just cant stand the writing and the acting. Once Saint started emo-ing at the music club i just couldnt continue. Does anybody know if Tae was originally meant to be Ja's partner here cause Tae is just not ready to be a male lead and their chemistry isnt chemistrying.
too many NPC uncredited actors with speaking lines. The show doesnt know how to focus on the main cast.
The two main leads are cute but the rest are annoying AF esp Tong and Tul.
And the makeup, seriously. Its so obvious that its distracting. Since when did they started doing this tyoe of makeup for tv. Its like the actors are made in a way to go on a stage.
This actualy so good, i dont understand the kinda low rating. This should now be lower than 8.5 Compared to a lot of dramas which gets higher rating. Its entertaining, mysterious and funny and i love the action pieces. Every episode ends with just enough cliffhanger to make you want to come back for the next episode.
So far out of the 5 members, Jeong Hwan hasnt really done anything significant and we are already halfway. Id like to see Nam Yeon and Choi Gang fight side by side together.
Watching this again in horizontal episodic format is so much better!
Exactly, they should have released it in this original format, its much much better. I wonder why they dont have a seperate page here in MDL for the re-edited version.
well Shine won Best Bl of the year award 😉Domundi ain’t better than GMMTV.. You loved Cutie Pie and The Nexh…
hi thanks for wriitng, although i have a few questions.
Im wonderwing where in my review did i mention that i loved Cutie Pie and The Next Prince? I havent even mentioned ZeeNunew. I also didnt say Domundi is better than GMMTV.
Although Im glad that Shine won the best BL of the year, sad to say i havent seen it yet so i cant really compare it to this series. Maybe if i get the chance to watch it id change my mind and say its the best Thai BL this year instead of this one.
YKS is so good with his movements it looked flawless in those action scenes. I cant believe he is not an action star before this. Does anybody know if he did action scenes in his previous dramas? Im a comvert!
i cant believe its now only at 7.8, it deserves higher.

This is how Typhoon Family should have been.
With that said, this is just a confusing mess.... I will stop for now, maybe come back to it after all episodes are aired.
