did we even watch the same ep like yalll.... are yall having some collective dementia about ep 6 maybe? like there…
wow thanks for that reply. Im not disagreeing with your points and like you when i watched the original show i was appalled by the idea that they made the villain a transperson. I do however think that this series handled the issue far better than the original. It doesnt feel like they are generalizing the whole trans community - in fact they spent a far considerable amount of time (again compared to the original) to explain what happened to the copycat killer and distinguished that she is different from other trans people. They were sensitive eough to explain how the copycats' trauma has led her to become the killer.
When the nurse said the copycat was different because she was mutttering "its such an advantage that society doesnt see women as threats" it is also implied that the copycat didnt transition to hide the crime but it is was an unintended benefit of being a woman because whether we agree or not society does see women as lesser threat that men.
Looks like many people say it's boring, and they're dragging the competition for too long even tho it's only 2…
i beg to disagree a little. i love the cooking part, but they could have come up with another story arc after the ming envoys because it really felt like it dragged these past 3 episodes - i think the problem is because the first four episodes were very good that we expected way too much. I also think that no one from the ming side (aside from the main chef) is interesting at all, and to cut todays competition with a cliffhanger is just a little too rude when normally kdramas put their big cliffhangers in the odd episode and solve it in the even episode so people wont have to suffer for 6 days waiting.
What about Buried Hearts? I really enjoyed that show and i know that show isnt perfect but it at least showed PHS's range as an actor - he was pretty good in it. He is almost a side character here only showing a few times in the entire series.
full of god-awful wigs and those horrendous costumes, for an 8-episode series there were so many repetitive scene and the sets - its like they only booked 4 or five locations to shoot this whole thing. I really feel bad for all the actors especially SIG and PHS it feels like they were cornered to accept this role just because of MDS.
Ma Dong Seok has delivered as a one-two punch of really awful movie and series with Holy Knight and this series. Is he trying to ruin his otherwise illustrious career?
he is not even the villain, the trailer sold us that he is going to go against MDS and that was an exciting storyline, unfortunately someone else with a little less star power could have played his role.
Theres always a lot of good and bad things to say about Domundi shows but you cant deny they do try their best and it shows in their last few shows. The production quality is good and the costumes (especially in the flashback scenes) are exquisite just like in the production and costume design in The Next Prince. it is beautifully shot and you can see that they do spend a lot in their series.
Domundi is Bishonen-izing their characters to delineate gender differences - and i think they are mainly catering to BL fans who love Japanese yaoi. It can be good or it can also be detrimental to gay advocacies thats why the division of fans. but I think most of their writers live in their own rainbow bubble where gender issues and realities dont exist.
Its rare to see a show that you get attached to almost all characters. The second and third couple are all lovable too. The family dynamics for the characters are also very well portrayed. I just feel a little bad for Biu because i thik shes the only one without her parents (or have i missed it from earlier episodes?).
To be honest the show is a little too slow for me but it is slow for its own good.
Im just hoping more people will find and watch this because this one deserve a far higher rating than what it is now.
The last scene in ep 6 made it clear THEY didn’t save the world. Taesan saved the world alone, with 1 punch.…
Exactly, i dont know whay they made the story about 12 angels when they could have made a more focused story and centered it all to Taesan. The other characters are all useless in the grand scheme of things.
Absolute waste of the superstar cast. I dont even know why PHS and SIG took on their roles, whoever advised them to take this should be fired. Casting Na In Woo as an extra - for real? You cant even call that a cameo.
No character is making a mark and no one is likeable enough. The action scenes are awkward and laughable at best. Costumes are aweful espcially for the flashback scenes.
The fact that the entire 6 episode could have been compacted to 2 proves that they have a very thin narrrative to tell despite the fact that the story is masquerading as a grand epic story spanning characters who lived for millenias. This may have been better as a movie instead of stretching it all to a series whitout any substance.
I’m going to be so heartbroken once aejun finds out siyeol’s intentions😭😭
im there with you, i dont think i cant take the devastationAe Jun will feel once he finds out he is being toyed bySi Yeol. How they will resolve this revelation can either make this one of the best or one of the worst BL this year. I shouldnt have started watching it cause it is such a pain waiting for the next episodes.
Its definitely not bad i can see the good intention of the story arcs - but sometimes the payoff isnt very satisfying. One issue is sometimes the actors can be very amatuerish and robotic except for Flute who is definitely doing all the heavy lifting so far. There are so many quirks that i love like that scene in the bar after the first trio played and they were dividing the money and Biu was given nothing that was hilarious like something that can happen in real life.
For now id say im enoying it, I wonder why they didnt list the name oif the director here in MDl i want to see his previous works ust to compare.

You know what i th ink you are right, i would probably eat my words and re-watch it :)
