Thanks! I won’t be surprised if the manga ending was like that and they’re following it or the team has limitations on producing this BL but this was so good and better than most romantic comedy shows I’ve seen (BL or not)
Last episode fell short. As I've stated this in my review
"I am not a fan of the breaking up at Episode 11 and reuniting in Episode 12 (the last one, excluding the extras). It's just a plot device so overly used in romance stories. I agree that the conflict has to be brought up in the 2nd last episode but to be immediately settled in the last episode? The conflict was resolved way too quick for me. The sudden outburst from Adachi and my boy Kurosawa tearing up to make up in the last episode as if nothing has happened previously doesn't sit right with me. Also, Adachi's rapid change of mind to do it immediately do it with Kurosawa felt OOC for me. I had unanswered questions about why he wanted to do it. I thought the show should have more episodes because the conflict resolvent was very unrealistic for me. I wasn't sure if Adachi wants to lose it because he was ready or he wants to give up his magic to live an ordinary life with Kurosawa because he feels like he's too dependent on his powers. Even though I like the ending, I just wished that the show could have been dragged on a little longer."
Overall I still love the show, it's a 10/10 from me
I can't believe they pulled 2gether on us lol But yeah, with how much Adachi was freaking out about losing his…

I had some unanswered questions since I wasn't sure if Adachi wants to lose it because he was ready or he just wants to give up his magic to live an ordinary life with Kurosawa and have unexpected surprises from him.
I also thought the last episode fell short since the conflict was resolved way too quick for me and Adachi’s quick change of mind to immediately do it with Kurosawa felt OOC for me. It’s the same trope of breaking up at the 2nd last episode and making up at the last episode which is very overused. But I couldn’t help myself but give it a 10 because I rewatched it many times LOL
Btw I would like to say that I don't support the censorship of the relationship between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji compared to the novel, I still appreciate the creators for giving their best in trying their best to portray Wangxian's relationship in the drama.
I'm excited for more people to discover Hualian’s love and fall for all these amazing characters because TGCF is genuinely such a wonderful story. TGCF is more than a BL novel. It's a novel that shows human imperfections, humanity, letting go of past traumas, overcoming insecurities and most importantly, learning to love yourself. TGCF is about humanity was written in the perspective of a god. Also, it's a huge accomplishment for the author to see her novel to be adapted into a Manhua, a Donghua and a live action. I would be glad to see new fanarts of the characters there.
However, the biggest problem with TGCF is the script and the biggest hinder of the show isn't BL but the world building itself. Religion is a very difficult topic to pass, life after death is a difficult topic to pass and the grey area of good and evil is difficult to pass. They actually have laws and protocols on how you can film and write certain archetypes. There's even genderfluid/non binary gods (Shi Qingxuan, Ming Yi, etc). I am not sure how they're going to tackle those topics in the drama because there are so many censorship rules. Not to mention the extreme body horror in the novel and there are 244 CHAPTERS IN THE NOVEL and my favourite subplot, the Black Water arc is gonna be hard to tackle. The novel is not for minors btw.
Also Hua Cheng is the most beautiful ghost I've ever seen, who can literally play him????
I hope they have a big budget because it's less of a period drama and more of a high fantasy novel with like people teleporting everywhere and a city filled with animal-hybrid demons and without good effects it might make or break the show.
Am I still going to watch and support the show? Yes but I don't have high expectations for it. Right now, I am wondering how much they are gonna change in the drama compared to the novel because the novel is already perfect. CQL production team please don't let me down :D
Drama adaptation of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s BL novel #HeavenOfficialsBlessing (#TianGuanCiFu) gears up for production. Co-produced by iQiyi, Huace/Croton, & Syndication Film & TV, filming is slated to begin Q2 2021, with Chen Jialin (The Untamed) as director
