I tried re-watching this drama twice, and even using 1.5x speed but I just cant go past Episode 7/8 without feeling strong second hand embarrassment for the FL. Started watching it because the reviews and most of the recent comments are highly recommending this.. I was convinced by the comments that things will get better for her, but I skipped to Ep 13/14 and their relationship dynamics still feel similar? I think I need to take a break from 傻白甜 FL dramas.
This is easily the best c-drama of 2020. All the episodes are well-paced, grounded and realistic from start to finish. The casting is great. Main leads look totally convincing in their transition from teenage to adult years. Jianjian is one of the most lovable and endearing female character of all time, all thanks to Songyun's performance. I wasn't very impressed with her from Under the Power, but I will look forward for her upcoming dramas. Song Wei Long has always been an eye candy that have shown gradual improvement in acting. He's still so young; he'll definitely grow as an actor. Except for ML's mom, every character in the drama tug at your heartstrings. You can see growth for all of them. Not a dramatic ending, but perfect for such a slice of life drama.
Sebrina is such a versatile actress. I am really impressed with her transition from Maiden Holmes and Unicorn Girl. Both characters have a different personality which she portrays especially well. Darren's eyes are captivating, and I absolutely love his grin. His acting isn't too bad. Overall, it's a nice drama.
I jumped from LAR to Maiden Holmes for smth fluffy, then I finished Unicorn girl in 4 days. What's next? Not ready for a serious lengthy drama yet. :3
Try watching My Unicorn Girl. It's also very cute, although cliched and has the same female lead.
HAHAH Great minds think alike!! Before reading this comment, I'm already on Unicorn girl episode 3 now. Hopefully it's just as refreshing as Maiden Holmes.
I came here to heal from the void left by completing Love and Redemption. Ends up this drama is so cute that it left me with another void to fill. The main leads have amazing visuals and chemistry together. The story albeit very expected, hits all the correct notes. And the best thing is there isn't a messy love line.

Hmm.. Unpopular opinion but I think Crystal's acting is not on par with Chengyi. I have watched her in Listening Snow Tower and L&R, but I still find her emotions lacking in the crying scenes.
Maiden Holmes isn't really very fluffy. It has a good plot, albeit a little cliche. In the ML's defense, it's his first drama, so it can't be compared with Chengyi, but his eyes are equally captivating. And the FL suits the detective character well.
As for Yanxi, I have the episodes stored in my comp, but I couldn't bear to start it knowing that Xu Kai met a bad ending. LOL

Yeah I know about Promise of Chang'an but I am not really prepared to jump into another Chengyi's angst. Also, the female lead is a villain in LAR. I find Chengyi too youthful looking for her. LOL. This is gonna be confusing.

I really like how smart and mature the female lead is, unlike Miss Truth with similar genre. Thankfully, this drama is filling the void LAR left me. Am not sure if I wish to venture into Promise of Chang'An yet. Not into serious politics.
How can I laugh at Si Feng's suffering? No, I cry together.
I've never really noticed Chengyi's past works, as they have always been side characters. I think this is definitely his breakout role. His scenes are more emotionally charged than the FL.
I almost didn't complete DOTS, and had to take a break after Episode 3 or 4. I had no problems finishing Pinnochio since I'm a PSH fan. It may be my bias, but you could try finishing Pinnochio. Eternal Love of Dreams felt really draggy throughout the second arc, all the way to the ending. It's the problem with C-dramas actually; there are waaaay toooo mannnyyy episodes! But I still managed to complete it, thanks to the completionist in me.
This drama is soooo star studded. Even the second leads and supports had led their own dramas before. The drama stills look gorgeous, especially Lusi and Alen Fang. I love Dilraba in her previous dramas. Hopefully she can have good chemi with Leo.
