Seriously before talking about rape like you know everything about it, you should stop and think you do not know who you are speaking to and what life experience they’ve gone through. You know nothing about me as I know nothing about you. So please come down your high horse as pontificating online about a tv drama does not make anyone an expert on real abuse and how one could cope with it through fantasy and sublimation. But yet again feeling morally superior and wanting to impose your own set of ideas upon others is exactly what respect means, ain’t it? Couldn't agree with you more! And unfortunately i decided to read recent reviews and felt compelled to write one myself for the first time ever as BL fans should not be let to think this is not one of the most enjoyable series in the genres because of issues that nothing have to do with BL stories!

let me eplain it in an easy way: soccer ia sbout 2 teams of 11 people running with a ball for 90 minutes, if you don't like the ball, the running, the teams or the players as a concept you don't watch, but you don't complain that it's boring or bad or annoying because it is not baseball, or football or anything else, because it would make your complaint ridiculous. Shounen ai or yaoi, like it has been devolepped for the past 40 years in Japan and other asian countries, has a very specific set of tropes and rules and it goes following those, you don't like you don't watch, but you don't criticize a BL show because it's not Angel's in America, or the hit and miss would not be about the show but about what you expect from it and irrealisticaly so. Other example, if you read a Harlequin novel you can expect the usual type of tropes that are predictable, and fictious and more often than not even ridiculous or pretestuous. If you don't like that you don't read that kind of book, but you don't expect such a story to turn out to be Pride and Prejudice or Wuthering Heights, or Anna Karenina ecc... It's not that Harlequin novels are lacking in comparison to classic novel with romantic themes, they are simply different things. You can appreciate both, you can appreciate one and detest the other, you can dislike both genres. You can think some stories in each genre are better than others (which is certainly true for many BL stories, some are way better at using clichès than others) but saying one story is bad because it's not a different genre is not giving an honest critique. As for this show in particular i totally get if someone tells me they don't like some of the cliché or how they are using it in the story, eveyone has their own preferences. What i find absurd ins some od the comments is that people are saying this is a bad product because basically they use BL clichés and not specifying why they don't think those clichés are used poorly instead for example. It's like judging a cup of hot black coffee bad because it's dark bitter and scalding, and sure there can be variations on the coffee theme, you can put sugar in it or not, or cream, or syrup, of vanilla, cinnamon cocoa etc.. but when you drink a coffee coffee is the biggest part of it. It's not about the majory of what people want, it's about what one thing is and is not. And really these products are made and consumed primary by asian people that surely don't come to comment here. Maybe i'm simply part of a generation of people that did not get scandalized by what books or movies told in their stories, and did not feel the need to police fantasy to make it a pale copy of reality. Sometimes is just a bit dysmaying watching how people that, on paper have much more freedom that we had back in the days, get outraged by what happens in fictional stories and that they feel the need to 'moralize' them based on their personal preferences.

i don't own BL but probably i am less of a masochistic than you as when i watch them i expect exactly those 5 clichés you mention, with such scorn and sarcasm, and that's what i get which provides me exactly what i want and make me have a good time. May i ask what do you get out of watching and commenting something you do not enjoy? And yes Austrians do not own Mozart, but Mozart was and always will be an austrians like asian BL will always be made first and foremost for asian people and their tastes on the matter.
Just so in love with this show and all the characters. It's fuffly and sweet with the right amount of angst to make me feel for all the guys. FANTASY IS NOT REALITY, and reality should not be modeled on fantasies or books or movies. BL and Romance stories especiallies are not made or written to be real raltionship study material, and criticizing a plot or characters because they fail to produce the 'perfect example of a relationship' is plenty ridiculos. BL are an idealized fantasy of some aspects of love, meant to bring forth easy emotions and feelings that everyday life cannot always inspire with its truth. Anyone looking for realism or social counseling in a BL is like someone expecting romanticism while reading a bank statement, an exercise in futility that can only frustrate. Liking BL stories or not is personal taste, but expecting BL to be something they are not it's unfair and arrogant. Liking this particular BL or not once again a personal choice and there can be plenty of reasons for both, but not liking a BL because it's written and done as BL instead of a story that portrays real gay relationships (or safe and positive relationships like they must be in real life in general) tells more about the one passing this kind of judjement that the BL itself.

it's not about the accent, quite the contrary it's better than many european products when they talk italian and even grammar is 99% correct it's the landscape, the traffic, the portrayal of italian guys and mafia, that's simply hilarious
